Personally, I've been working fastter up front. I haven't spent an hour or more on a kick drum before I even have a vague idea of what I'm trying to accomplish big picture-wise. Also, I've started most of my tracks with a bass sound, a pad, or a synth riff. I've enjoyed the results of that. Last, but most importantly, I've been so much better about stuffing things that aren't working in the "junk drawer" and moving on.
I recorded everything live and played with the effects and did a lot of improvisation type stuff, changing arrangements/notes on the fly... i think it worked really well. the music had a different, more organic feel and i did a lot of stuff i wouldn't have had i just arranged everything in FL and then rendered it like usually do

the songs also took a lot less time to make... when you're composing you try to put in lots of little songs to keep the music interesting which can be time consuming, but when you're recording the song live, dub-style, to a certain extent those things tend to come about on their own

BUMP!!!

5th, and 6th up. 7th, and 8th just need mixdowns, and will be up tomorrow.

7th is a house track, and I never really make/listen to house, but I am really feeling it, think it will be the best so far...

Just got my tenth done. Feel like I pretty much hate everything I make with drums at the moment. Maybe I'm destined to only make IDM and new classical?

When this started I was all fired up, had my war face on, and my motivation was very high, the highest it has ever been for making music. My inspiration was high, but their was still some confusion with what I was going to do. First week went well, the second week I hit a block hard, did not do much at all, my inspiration just sunk, and my motivation followed a few days later. Now start of week 3 I am back, and I am feeling stronger than ever, I have finished 4 tracks in the last 2 days.

I remember, when Kaiori Breathe went a little crazy, and started making all these essays about music theory, and motivation. Now I still don't total get him on the music theory point of view he has got, but I am starting to get him on the motivation point of view. My thoughs on music have started to change the last few months, I have become more serious about it. Music as always been something I did for me, I never felt in competition with anyone, not even myself, but this is starting to change.
BTW 7, and 8 are now up. The 9th is almost done, and is a real dubstep track (I don't really make much dubstep :corntard: ). 10th will either be a stab at a pop track, or a synth prog track.

I feel that. It all comes in sprints (well, if you call 6-8 hour sessions sprints). My first track is pretty much shit, but all the others I'm fairly happy with. I'm excited about the track I got going yesterday, hoping to finish it this afternoon and get it up.

I've got a new one too. Bit of a brostep number which is odd for me but it's about a volcanic supereruption so it was clear that was the way things had to go XD

Got 7 up now, doubt I'm gonna make the whole 14 by the end of the month, gotta average one a day from now, still having a bit of fun with it though, last 3 came out over the weekend, all similar trancey melodic vibes, can really hear the difference in mixdown with "Never Ending", made on the crappy headphones, should sort that out really :?

I got number 7 up. I'm excited I've gotten half way. How are folks doing in the final days? I take it no one has given up?

I started wanting to make something at an uncommon BPM. Went with 110, but when I was fiddling with the percussion 120 ended up sounding better. I don't know wtf this is, but I'm happy with where it is going. Quite different from my usual fare in many ways.

Lucked out on this weeks ago. Fair play to everyone who've managed to put out track after track, and dazzle the squares on FAWM, haha
