I was once on Robot Wars ...almost. PAssed the auditions, turned up to filming with our badass robot but due to an accident on set our heat was cancelled due to schedule changes.

Probably for the best though, our robot was properly shit

Can't remember the name, 'Talon' I think? The weapon was pretty badass to be fair, had a couple of machined metal spikes/rods that came a couple of feet out the front, fired by compressed air pistons. I don't know how effective theyd have been against an actual robot but as an eight year old it was fun driving round the driveway smashing up breezeblocks...
