Meh, hung out with a bunch of big names in EDM. Broken Note, Bryan Fury, I:gor, Sickboy, Atari Teenage Riot (mostly Alec Empire, also interviewed him), Dorian Concept, Loops Haunt, Electric Kettle, etc. Met a lot of others as well like Ladyscraper, Hellfish, the Teknoist, Rotator, etc.
Needless to say, I host a breakcore party and those were some of the musicians we booked. <.<
Hung out with Louis Logic.
Talked at length with Guy from The Red Chord. He recognized me 3 years later.
Was on TV when I was 11 for a mental arithmetic competition.
My mom was in the Melina Mercouri movie called Tokapi.

'Breakcore fam' is the word alright. Anyone who is anyone (as in, producers, DJs, promoters, label owners) has at least some mutual friends or acquaintances in the scene. So weird how such a global scene is so tight knit (a bit too much, maybe).pkay wrote:One of the coolest dudes around. Sometimes I don't think he gets how big a deal he is.Genevieve wrote:I:gor

Love it though. All this dubstep bullshit, all the drum and bass bullshit, if I had my pick of a show to go to breakcore wins 8 days a week.Genevieve wrote:'Breakcore fam' is the word alright. At least you're in a good part of the world for the sound. Maybe 3 cities in all the US that put on decent shows

My mate's friend set up Rephlex with Aphex Twin.
A friend of a friend spat on 50 Cent at Leeds Fest.
Gareth Southgate used to live on my mate's street.
Auntie Pam from Coronation Street is a friend of the family.

It's as good as dead here as well, man. There's the Not Your Monkey Not Your Robot guys, PRSPCT and there's Smackdown (whom we work with) and there's us, Deathtrap and there's a new party starting up called 'Bruut' in a neighbouring town.pkay wrote:Love it though. NYMNYR and Deathtrap aside, most of these parties focus on industrial hardcore and UK/French style shit and hard/darkstep, since breakcore doesn't really sell that well anymore.
We book glitch-hop and abstract dubstep as well to stay fresh and with the times. That and I love that shit too.

Re: Shit claims to fame
@ Serious ^, why doesn't that surprise me?
maybe cos my grandfather escaped by climbing the walls of Cooma Gaol, aged 11,
which reminds me:
my brother being named Mr Big in Sydney rags for supposedly importing $200 mill of hash...
(his subsequent exoneration getting no such headlines...nor compensation)

She used to be on Play School in the 80s, anyone born before 1985 should know that.
