rinseballs21 wrote:honestly it matters what the lineup is for the event

if your going to see big name rottun label dj's in the states and canada, then expect a shit ton of moshing

if your going to see funtcase and the circus crew, expect more shit ton of moshing

but if your going to dmz, then i wouldn't expect much moshing

don't get pissed when you go to see datsik and doctor p, and the sweaty moshing bro's are out in full effect, you know what you signed up for
I dont necessarily agree with the 'Circus crew expect more moshing' I saw the whole lot of em in Leeds at the same venue as I saw Datsik last week and it was about 110% better than the Datsik gig. We stood at the front skanking (in space) and had a really good night in all honesty. Maybe its getting worse over time?

Agree with that comment comparing those who are pissed and those who are twisted. Ive experienced a set of different types of experiences at raves myself.

Circus i was pretty ruthlessly twisted
Skream, Jakwob, Nero I was completely sober (as i was driving)
Datsik I was just pretty pissed

So from these 3 experiences i can tell you the following things: (as a personal experience)

1. Being twisted just makes you accept whats going around you and dickheads dont bother you AS MUCH
2. Going sober is possibly the worst mistake ive ever made. by 4am i was getting pretty tired and as you'd expect you just notice far too many things that piss you off. Twisted people piss you off. You can tell those people who are doing drugs for the first time and being so fucking pathetic. Its almost embarassing. You can spot pissed people from a mile off.

In fact watch this video and tell me what you would of felt if you was there in person completely sober..

3. Being sober makes your remember the night more tho obviously and the tunes were good and you respect what the djing and all that a lot more.
4. Being twisted makes you not remember a lot but from what you remember it is usually so good. Colours are more vivid and the sound is so much better
5. Being pissed for me on that night was similar to that of being sober. Got pissed off with people pushing at the front. Couldn't really skank to the tunes just wasnt feeling em. Just really didnt wanna be there.
6. Being twisted and 9/10 the night goes by in the blink of an eye.

Yeh that video is awful,
at fabric on I was pretty sober because I get drug tested for work now and drinks are bare expensive, that's probably why I got more annoyed than normal with idiots throwing elbows and shit.
Point is, I shouldn't need to be wasted for a good dubstep night because its all about the music and hearing tunes on a good system!

Again depends on the lineup/night I reckon.

I've been to nights at Fabric where the vibe and atmosphere is perfect.

I'd say the night/DJs have more to do with the atmosphere than the club. When i went to Fabric for DJ Marky launch night there was a good cross section of people (and very broad styles of dance music from d&b to house to jump-up dubstep to garage to grime) and everyone was having a good time!

Did anyone see the modestep takeover on the youtube homepage, I clicked it out of curiosity and they were saying stuff like "we chose this song because of the reaction it gets - people go crazy and literally start fighting on the dancefloor - in a good way of course"

A GOOD WAY!!?? how can you fight in a good way? stupid pricks

i really hate ppl moshing at events, like its been said before its all about having your own lil space just to skank out, like when i used to go to west indian we always went on the stage because for some reason there was more room up there than the dancefloor, plus you could watch what the dj's were doing which i always appreciate,

anyways i quickly got tired of this moshing and jumping around crazily when some guys elbow flew into my face and knocked half my tooth out, my tooth was already fucked like but twas quite annoying seeing the next day how the fake bit had come out.

i really wish like ppl cud just go to night and chill out in the room without having to always be aware of flying elbows and shit, but i can only see it going in the opposite direction. or maybe these homophobe. will eventually get tired of datsik and fuck off. but who knows, hopefully

I think it was Flux Pavilion said he liked it on FB. MC Rage encourages it at C&S gigs.

Didn't an MC stop the music and refuse to carry on until the crowd stopped moshing? Please confirm.
