massive vst

Post by benloadin » Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:59 am

I know im going to get a million ( you stupid bastard comments from this, or go read the tutorials) and my answer is i have read them and watched a bout a dozen videos.
here are my questions( I am a fl studio user if that helps)
1. What is better for the heavy lines Low pass 2 or 4. Obviously 4 or is lower . but i dont know if i should just try to tweak from lp 4.
2. Is there a a way to give my lines a better mid range in massive. the only thing i can think of is to use the mixer to make adjustments.
3. because i use the performer option in massive when i try to re-sample my lines it forces me to restart at step 1 of performer if i chop the wobble line up. is there a way to avoid this.

thanks for any help

1.Depends on the sound your trying to create really
2.Theres not much you can do within massive except use filters that will accentuate the mids, you also have to EQ the sound within your DAW to get exactly what you want . If you want to get deeper split the sound into it's individual frequency bands(Theres tons of tutorials on the boards on how to do this) and tweak just your mids from there, distort, saturate, etc.
3.On the top of the performers pattern view there are number 1-16,you can choose which range of steps you want to select just by highlighting,i.e 1-4 or 7-13. Is that what your trying to do?

create the bassline as high mid and low.
work with the mid version to have more mid range

i don't know what DAW or sequencer you are using OP but this is to split the frequencies in Logic which is really helpful with any midrange bassline you have.
