Re: Naming your remixes is cool and should be done more.
It looks like Martyn has a system for naming his remixes. Must be some sort of sample, instrument or style reference cause I see he uses the same remix names multiple times. I don't mind that at all. And it's not to pretentious sounding either. Some people go a bit too far with their remix names.

Yeah, needs to happen more.
See, I read this and thought "haha, like anyone is dumb enough to make a dubstep remix of Cher...."
Then I googled;

freshly ground - i'd like (deadly habit's give credit where credit is due assholes remix)
Re: Naming your remixes is cool and should be done more.
This has always been done in House music, for yeeeeears. Kind of necessary when you get the song and 6 remixes of it on one 12"... Don't think it serves a purpose in dubstep which its why it hasn't caught on but I too have always liked named remixes lol

martyn talks about this in this video at red bull http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/vide ... eat_depths *from about 52 minutes

If anyone ever played an old giant robot fighting game in the 90s called one must fall, this will make sense.

Oh, this wasn't a joke? Generally it looks fucking lame.
Naming tunes
How do you go about this?
I start stuff, finish it, then can't name the bastards -_-
What are your methods for overcoming things like this?

Yeah this threads pretty recent.
Re: Naming tunes
Personally right now, I can’t decide what “style” of naming I even want to do.
There are 3, I’ll give examples (all fictitious):
1 - (Song content) “Just got real” if it had vocal samples somebody saying “Shit just got real” throughout. Sometimes songs name themselves, but if I find this the boring way.
Common in Brostep/Wobble.
2 - (Single word). “Slug” “Moth” “Undo” I like this type. It’s simple and gives a clear mental image to the listener and *if* you pick good ones, like Burial does, they stick in people’s mind and are easily remembered. Common in crackle/ambient/future garage/etc...
3 - (Sentence). “If Hands Could Talk” “The Day She Died” I love this kind, and I feel its the most creative and intriguing. I find generally only really obscure, really creative musicians & bands tend to do this. They usually have weird, experimental tunes with no single genre definition.
I’d love to do #3, but always end up with #2, but the word is never a good one. LOL

Re: Naming tunes
I wank off into a coffee mug and name my tunes after whatever it looks like... 'The Floods' was not a tune I enjoyed naming...
Re: Naming tunes
^ As well as you can write Kaiori (and we all know you can write) I doubt you have any trouble with interesting tune names. I’m interested in your true naming process… jokes aside.
