I was reading a book last night that described Texas as "America's America". Many of America's prominent traits (individualism, religiosity, capitalism) seem to be amplified in Texas.

I've never been there myself though...

TXz reps real hard on these here forums, i reckon.

if it werent for austin, i wouldve up n runofft a long time ago...mostly due to the heat but also for the fact that i dont exactly think/look like im "from around these parts", if ya catch my drift (wheres the cowboy emoticon?).

dont get it twisted, though, if youve never been here, or have only had the misfortune of driving through one of our famous podunk towns, it aint all tumbleweeds and cowboys (if only).

there are plenty of great people to meet and unexpected adventures to stumble all upons
:goonies:

ps- big up, the texas food and texan women

I don't feel much for Texas - it's not really part of my life.

I know American Football (not the real football  ), cheerleaders and cowboy hats are popular there.

So Verdict how do you feel about Brighton or Sussex?

where in minnesota? thats where i grew up

as for texas. ive never been. but its part of the south. so im a bit skeptikal on how cool it could actually be. :P austin seems to be the only haven of decent music and liberalness that ive heard of...otherwise i just think of evil uneducated power/money hungry fascists when i hear the word texas.

No. I'm not suggesting that the turned on guys here would wear them, just that I know they're popular and sort of unique to that part of the world. :)

big up, chuck norris, and all, but its shows like that and Dallas that perpetuate the misconceptions.

i've seen more cowboy hats on japanese business men than i do in real life.
