i find it curious how burroughs is widely celebrated while robert anton wilson is quietly swept under the rug to an extent

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
but yeah if you love burroughs as much as anybody who loves burroughs might, then it's a no brainer to check this one out. if you don't already love burroughs, you may not care.

IM NOT CONFORMING TO YOUR RULES. FUCK THE SYSTEM.knell wrote:from now on, can we type the name of the movie as well as linking the picture? going through some of the older pages, a lot of the pics have 404'd, and it kills me not knowing what they are (yes, i've checked the image URL to see if the name is in it)
also, it'd be cool if people would write what they thought about the movie, or we can even develop a 1-10 rating system for those too lazy to do a write up?
so like:
{pic}
name of movie
blah blah it was good/bad etc
{rating 1-10}
???
?
good idea though. imo.

Lost Highway is my favourite too. Love Lynch's films.
I watched 'The Thin Red Line' and 'Bride of Frankenstein' last night. Loved both. I'd seen 'TTRL' before but I'd never seen the other.
'Bride of Frankenstein' makes me appreciate 'Young Frankenstein' even more than I already did. Even has the blind man in the shack in the woods.
Dr. Pretorius is a brilliant character. Such a repulsive human being.

The ending of Pi was fucked (good way, tho), and I'm not really sure what to make of it yet. Movie was sick tho

i thought the new one was fantastic. liam neeson/ralph feinnes as zeus/hades is a stroke of genius.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
neeson and feinnes are really the only reason I continued to watch it; not a bad film it just could be a bit more adult. it felt a bit harry potter in places.

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
there was nothing adult about the original. you should see percy jackson for some harry potterism in greek mythology. they were released at the same time too.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
I saw that movie about the climber that had to cut off his harm. I forgot the name tho :/
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
saw true grit last week, that was REALLY good. 9/10
then went to see the king's speech with my wife as she wanted to see it. pleasantly suprised. really well shot, well scripted, looks great and lots of good acting.

Unknown- B+ - as far as run of the mill hollywood thrillers this is stereotypical but quality. A bit bourne'ish but thats not a terrible thing
