Bouncing Bassline
I'd really like to know how to achieve a midrange bass sound similar to Cookie Monsta-Frontline and Excision & Datsik-Deviance (right after it goes "check this out"), could someone enlighten me on how to start creating this? I don't want a step-by-step tutorial, just a jumping point or maybe some of the theory behind the sound so I can play around and make something of my own
I'm using Reason 5 btw

Re: Bouncing Bassline

Read the stickies. You will find tutorials there, and the beginning is a nice jumping point. Google and youtube are also helpful.

Re: Bouncing Bassline

Gimme a break, I just got my DAW like a week ago so most of the technical vocabulary hasn't clicked yet

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Re: Bouncing Bassline
Those guys have been producing a long time and have developed their own techniques and sounds mate. If you have actually done loads of tutorials you should have a load of bass patches. So get tweaking them and work out what everything is doing and what effect it has on the sound. After that have a crack at making your own by recreating these techniques. Then in 5 years time every new post on here will be asking ' how do I make that sick bass in the arkuris track'Arküris wrote:I've been watching TONS of tutorials, I just hadn't found any for this specific sound

also, for that boucning effect, use either a saw or traingle wave on the LFO as opposed to a sine

no problem, people are too tetchy these days. But yeah the bible and stickies are also massive help!Arküris wrote:Thank you! That little bit was the push in the right direction I neededMortal wrote:also, for that boucning effect, use either a saw or traingle wave on the LFO as opposed to a sine
