So, the sound I've been looking for last couple of weeks is the following:

The sound I mean, is at the drop.
It's a kinda machine-like sound, but still not too cheesy imo.
I'm not sure, but I think the same technique is used at the drop of Lost - metal foot:

Not sure about that though.
Hope someone can help me figuring this thing out.
Oh and yeah, I use Reason 5.0

Couple of sounds I'm looking to replicate;

First should be quite straight forward, at 0:16 the gliding synth that comes in, detuned or what?

Also, more general, but how do I make a glitchy techy? Something similar to the clicks and bloops in Skream - 2D

How do I make the mad whiny sound in Magnetic Man - Mad?

It comes in at 0:51 seconds.

Also, before anyone comes with stock quotes like "Make your own sounds, dont try copy", I've wanted to make a sound like this for ages, but its been hard to describe to people without sounding like a retard making 'butcher's saw' noises

Thanks

Are you talking about the robot "yeah" thing, or the actual saw bass ?

The bass is just a low pitched saw wave with unison or lots of layering to widen it up. After 0:51 just add in another saw osc and make it formant which gives you the high pitched sound.
The "yeah" sound can be done in Massive quite easily, get the "modern talking" osc and automate wt-position with an lfo. Then give it some phase. Done.

Any tips on how to make Caspa'a signature sound? The kind of whining detuned sound? It sounds like a saw/square wave that's fucked around with but I've done a lot of fucking around (in reason, which is what he uses) and there's no luck so far

Thanks, After I sent the message I 'accidentally' dropped a formant on some other sound I made before and put it on legato triller to get the slides, and I got the sounds.

But thanks for the help on the bass aswell.

Alright this thread is pretty swamped right?

But even still I'll give it a go.

The bass in this track:

It's a reece with feedback and high res right?

Anything else I can add to get a similar sound?

Cheers! :)

Greetings fellow producers and artist,
First I'd like to say it is a great pleasure in finding this site. I'm amazed to see that people are helping each other in production because for the longest time I couldn't find any help in this form. Yes this is my first post but after reading through some threads and taking tricks and tips I'm ready to start asking questions.

I've been having trouble trying to make these style sounds...the yugs and yeahs I like to call them. This is the sound I'd like to learn to make.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXGe3BMy7n4

at exactly 00:42 seconds

I'm sure this other one was also created with similar style and may clarify the sound I'm looking for.

Thank you for you help ! :]

If you can wobble you can make this sound. just throw a bitcrusher on it and you will have the general idea. It may take more tweaking but it will be close. youtube dubstep tutorial or how to make dubstep and you will have atleast 100 vids to help you

I've searched many different tutorials...many. I've been stuck on this sound for like 2 months. What would I do to the wobble ? Where would the bitcrusher go ? I've tried that and it never gets the yuhhh yuhhh sound. It's always a wuhhh wuhhh.

Practice, if all the youtube videos in the world for that ONE sound can't help you then you should give up on that sound, it sounds like shit anyways and it's better if you find your own way there anyway.

DIGITAL MYSTIKZ - UGLY

Interested in peoples thoughts on how the bass was made is this track. As far as I know it was made using Reason 3.0. The same bass sound is used thru out (I think?) but at different times something is opened (filter?) to allow more dynamics thru. At 2:41 a long note (can anyone tell me what key that is?) is played where the sound reveals more. After this the sound is open more than previous thru the track. Near the end of the track you can hear the bass solo but do check what happens when the note is played/sustained around 2:41.

I thought it was a square wave with a lp filter on it. It could prob be two oscillators? I also think it has a short reverb on it. But can anyone add any more? any ideas on what is automated and most importantly what settings do you think were used using distortion? I think this plays a bit part in the sound.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Similar sound here created by Skream in 2006 in this track on Big Apple records. Check the bass. Square wave with reverb? maybe band passed and the cut off point gives it the sound? help!

for the skream tune probably lp filter square wave the dmz tune what a tune never heard it before, listen to "stuck" similar sound..but it sounds to "present" to just be a square wave with lp filter..
