Now that you know how to make some powerful bass, it's time to learn to harness it a little better.
Steel Forest could use a little more warble in the bassline, and definately a LOAD more percussion, because I can't hear anything at all when I listen on shit speakers, on big speakers with a sub, it's just bass innit.
Dark Bells or whatever it was sounded a little more like a proper track. Perhaps add a little bit more swing to that one, and a variation on your kick and snares... I like to let tracks play out for a long time without rewinding them like the other wastemen about, so it's gotta keep my attention all the way through.
Of the two, I like Dark Bells the best--but I wouldn't send these out yet, not by a long shot... wait til you have like 10 or so DECENT tracks, and at least 3-4 real burners before sending them out, because usually the tracks that you really like yourself won't be the ones the labels are even to be bothered with.
And keep trying and posting your audio, preferably in the production forum, where a TON more can be discussed about these tunes in their infancy. There is nothing worse than getting absolutely NO response from a label, except for maybe sending too many duds and they just stop listening--you want your first exposure to be absolute GOLD, so they are talking like WHERE THE HELL THIS GUY COMIN FROM?
EZ, thanks for posting these.
