Velocity in Ableton
So I apologize in advance. You're probably going to see me posting endless questions here as I've decided to dive balls deep into production. But I do appreciate the help. Ok, so In Ableton, I'm toying around with the velocity on some notes from a midi track, trying to simply make a ramping effect. Buuuuuut, it's not... registering? The sound is no different.... Am I doing something wrong?.... I don't think I am....

Re: Velocity in Ableton
Are you triggering samples in Simpler/Sampler? If so, there is a velocity level setting which determines how much the velocities in the piano roll affect the volume of the sample. I think it's labeled "vel". In Simpler I think it's somewhere in the lower right corner of the interface. In Sampler I think it's on the filter/golbal tab. If you set it to 100% you should hear your velocities have an effect.

Haha, I guess it just depends on how much variation you want to have in your velocity levels. He'll definitely hear the effect at 100!

Re: Velocity in Ableton
I actually wasn't using simpler or sampler, just a sound from Massive on a midi clip.

I've never used Massive, but I'm guessing there is a setting in it somewhere for velocity sensitivity.
