fack, I'm kinda burned out right now for a battle royal. That battle royal was a lot of fun last time. I would really like to loose the genre/bpm restrictions. That's so 00's. Those days are over. Open it up and see what people can do.

I think a real choon battle would have the contestants using the same samples/sounds to really even it up

Would that mean no sound design? because that would really irk me.

Ya I know what u mean

I entered a drum and bass competition before and they gave the samples but you were allowed to further process and tune them anyway you like
And all of the samples provided were already in tune with eachother
I thought it was a cool idea to see how people could use only what was provided to battle eachother

The best part is after I was done making my shitty tune to hear some of the masterpieces people came up with using the same sounds

i'd be down for another battle royale, but I'd suggest making the timeslot longer than 48hrs, or maybe make it on a weekend.

pete bubonic wrote:Both tracks were struggling to be honest I went blue because excepting that awful plinky melody, it's a fuller warmer and essentially more atmospheric track. Red's main synth lead is fucking irritating and the tune sounds flat. And please don't tell me to 'get a sub'. chumps.
I think blue has more trouble with momentum. But I think blue could have won this, just totally screwed the pooch on that lead line (voicing and actual melody). Like so bad, it was fatal. As pointed out, some of the drum voicing was questionable.

Red is not sub driven, to say the least, but there is sub there. Red's failure in the sub department is less egregious than blue's failure in that lead line.

:O:
I don't think I could argue with that.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.
