Absolutely. A well trimmed and targeted list of recipients is going to be more fruitful than the anyone-and-everyone shotgun approach that some people take. A small list with the right people is ideal, especially for working up relationships with your recipients. The more you converse with them - without being a pest, the more likely they'll recognise the name and check your tunes.
