Half a decade ago, a cabal of misfits tumultuously threw together an orgy of week day debauchery under the then moniker of Erisian Discharge. Somehow the idea stuck and since then many hours of blood, sweat and missed coursework have been frittered away into providing somewhere in Brighton for people to infect their neurons with the sort of sonic decadence that largely couldn’t be found elsewhere.
Astonishingly following a procession of packed nights we’ve inadvertently become one of Brighton's longest running and well respected nights so to celebrate we’ve got something rather special in the works. We're flying in possibly our favourite previous headliner from of our busiest nights ever for a 90 minute education into the mind of a genius. A legendary force in the international Drum and Bass scene that’s been constantly reinventing himself for 15 years and who's sure to be a highlight of night... THE PANACEA.
No less amazing are the talents of our second special guest, we're thrilled to host all the way from America, JACKY MURDA. One of the top international junglists, you'll invariably hear this mans tunes aired at any jungle event. Along with a succession of releases on some of the most admired new-skool labels he's also at the helm of no less than 3 labels himself: Chopsick Dubplate, King Kong Sound and Little Island records and also release more downbeat stuff under the alias of MURDA.
Alongside such luminary we’ve also packed the line-up full of our favourite gems including London’s premier Mutant Junglist: DR COLOSSUS, Brighton’s own Technoid Drum n Bass machine: DARKNESS, Tearout Soundsystems’s QUANTUM NOIZE, and a special 3 deck, two mixer, amen turntablism set between AXIOMATT and RK Bass’s DJ AS IF.
Rounding out the night are sets from the governors of Erisian themselves: BANG CROSBY (one of the origninal primogenitors responsable for the name Erisian Discharge), FUCKNOSE (outlives the antiquity of even erisian having started Motion Sickness two years before) and TEST TUBE RABIES (was a dedicated breakbeat dj back when Erisian started - but it brought him over to the darkside!)
Plus in addition to all the above we’ve also seen right to provide you with the best possible entertainment in the second room with sets from a couple of nights that barely need introduction...
First up it’s a pleasure to introduce the return of DUBPRESSURE, who used to come and do Room 2 for us way back in the day and are making a special ceremonial reappearance for our fifth birthday. They'll be joined by the almighty JUNGLE SYNDICATE. One the most prolific nights of recent years who’ve been creating waves with killa line-ups in Bristol and London. You lucky sods!
