Thoughts on FM8 synthesis

Post by ctang » Mon Mar 07, 2011 6:12 pm

Im planning on purchasing FM8 from NI website, I like how it looks, its easy knob use like ASDR, and the cool modulation matrix grid for unique sounds. Any thoughts from people who have used this synth for electro/house/dubstep use.

FM8 is such an amazing synth, use it in nearly all my tracks. Use it for anything from pads to nasty basslines. Definately worth the purchase!

Its not a quickie synth. Whole lot of parameters in that mofo.

I would suggest blue or operator over fm8, just my opinion though. I've only ever used the demo of fm8 and didn't get into it enough to make the purchase.

^^^^ those videos were great, but theres one thing ive always wondered about FM8, is it possible to have an envelope on a "carrier modulating itself amount" would make two identical carriers and having one modualte the other be the same thing?

yeAH just make another carrier of the exact same setting and it will be the same as modulating itself :W:
