Yeah I sacrificed 2 grand of my savings :/ Worth it ridiculous amounts though. My heart will always lie in guitar playing, no matter how good my production gets at this stuff

Yarp I play. I joined here as I was blown away by how heavy some dubstep is so I'm starting to sniff around forums to get production tips.
Here is a clip:

To the OP, if you want to record clean/dirty guitars with delays etc you may wanna pick up Waves GTR solo. It's on sale for $18 at the moment. It's good for clean to semi dirty but thats about it. It sounds okayish for heavy stuff.
The clip above is a 5150 III amp (Van Halen designed it)
If you want heavy, go JCM800 with a tube screamer. If you want uber heavy go 5150 (any flavor). If you want to do Djenty stuff get an AXE fx.
You are all set apart from amp. Gibson LP studios are awesome (I have one). Big Muff is good for farty ott guitars. What is yourt budget? What bands/styles have the tone you like?

Have you tried running your crate vintage club 20 via 4x12?IK Obi wrote:I run a Start I built myself. Crate VC 20, Couple if DIY pedals and for recording use AmpliTube 3.
Check this out:

It's all vintage club 20 micd with an sm57 and through a celestion g12t-75 cab. My vc20 was converted to a head.
This thread is a bit strange. I don't see many VC20's or Tokais mentioned, and in this thread someone has a Tokai (so do I) and you have a VC 20 and some other guy has a LP Studio. If anyone mention they have a JCM 800 and some Kramers I'm changing the locks.
Re: Any Guitarists in here?
I hate having to play my Gibson through my little vox vt.
Hopefully I'll get a blackstar ht5 soon enough, love those little amps.

Re: Any Guitarists in here?
Have recently rediscovered my love of guitar. I play mostly classical stuff, have done practically all my life, but I picked up the electric again the other day and forgot how fun tapping and sweep arepggios and general guitar wankery can be. Classical stuff is amazing though, very inspiring stuff. Check out this piece by a russian composer called Nikita Koshkin, fuckin nutcase. Based on "The Fall of the house of usher" by Poe.
Recently started learning this too, which is lovely and calming to listen to, but insanely difficult to play.

Re: Any Guitarists in here?
been playing for 24 years now. had over 20 guitars over the years, right now since i'm no longer in a band i'm down to 1 guitar (american fender double fat strat with 2 seymour duncan humbuckers), 1 bass (american fender jazz bass) and native instruments guitar rig, which i love to death. i love real/tube amps too and miss playing through them but guitar rig is just too awesome for what it does/how much it costs/how convenient it is/etc.
Re: Any Guitarists in here?
Its great to see that there are alot of people who started off playing guitar and moved into producing. I only started getting into producing Dubstep this year, along with trying to figure out how to play it live with a band and Dj equipment.
