Building Wavetables... anyone?
Yo, I've done some searching on the interwebz and can't find much info on making your own wavetables, so I come to you guys; is it possible to chop a sample up into a wavetable sort of deal and put it into either Reason's Thor wavetable synth or well... any program at all? That'd be awesome.
Re: Building Wavetables... anyone?
Certainly not thor, though I'm 100% you could hack it and do this, but you'd need 1000's of man hours.
Reason is receding in my memory, but I'm pretty sure you can modulate the start and loop points in one of their samplers, this could give you a sort of wavetable. You could essentially just scrub a very small loop across your sample.

Re: Building Wavetables... anyone?
Yea I could probably do that fairly easy in Ableton, but I wanted to use a proper wavetable for access to all the nicely linked up synths and envelopes and such. Though I could just rig individual effects myself I guess...nowaysj wrote:Certainly not thor, though I'm 100% you could hack it and do this, but you'd need 1000's of man hours.![]()

There a gOod guide on this forum on how to make wavetables if you search. I have rapture its a sick wavetable synth and circle a good one as well.

Isn't sytrus FM? I'm not the most knowledgeable about the technical stuff, just make melodies and see what sounds fit my mood.makemerich wrote:i dont know shit about wt synthsesis yet, but check out sytrus. i have a homeb oy who swears by it i think u might be able to do the kinda shit you seek.
But you can drag waveshapes into it, there was another thread a few days back with LOADS of waveshapes free to download

You mean that joedub guy from amontobin? Or is that the OP as well?
And yea I know it doesn't tell you how to make wavetables, but I'm also just interested in acquiring those sounds. I keep getting an error #17450. Maybe someone can repost the file?

This thread may be good place to start ---> http://www.dubstepforum.com/create-good ... 50863.html
Basically, either use a synth that lets you draw your own waveforms or chop up small samples and put 'em into a decent sampler.
KarmaSynth has a nice sampler module with an automatable/modulatable sample start position control.
None of Reasons synths allow sample imput unfortunately, but the NN-19 as mentioned above does have a sample start button that can be modulated.
Look into Alchemy, Surge, Circle, Atlantis or Absynth if you're looking for synths that allow users to load in their own samples.
