Sub Bass Layering ?
When layering sub Bass should i use the same notes as the mid bassline or just a note from the same key.Are there harmonics in subsonic frequencies ?SoundcloudSoundcloud

I personally like to keep the same notes, because I want them to be a cohesive unit together, rather than two separate parts. But I dont see why you couldnt do otherwise.

Depends on what shapes your using. A perfect sinewave for example has no harmonics. And I'd suggest using the same note as the bassline, use the root if the bassline is a chord.

Bass chords get pretty muddy usually, and I couldn't imagine them sounding good unless they're in the perfect context, but go for it, it'd be cool if you could get it sounding good. Personally though, I wouldn't.
