roko has kindly given me a slot at the coming b.o.m.b night on march the 24th. Cafe 1001 Bricklane. Free entry.
so we're gonna try something new.
Ive spent the last few months working on a live dub show with a friend. strictly no laptops. we've been collecting the necessary machines and effects to bring the dub sound to peoples bassbins. initially this project was inspired by a faulty computer and a growing love of dub rhythms. so i got hold of a friends drum machine and tried making some lo-fi 90's dub style using the basic ingredients. since then its grown and grown. more machines. more effects. my friend has joined the rumble with some spangling guitar phases and a loopstation. melodica. sax. pedals. spring reverb. mini casio keyboard. its all in the pot. after experimenting with different ideas we've begun pushing towards more of a stepper sound. 4/4 kicks and solid sub. id liken it to some of the stuff ud hear from iration steppas, aba-shanti i, king earthquake. these are the sounds ive been looking to for inspiration.
This will be our first show in london so please come down and show your support if your into dub stuff.
or drum machines
cheers
