It is occassionally useful to touch the woofer. The tweeter scares the shit out of me. I have a five year old, and I don't know how they haven't been fucked up yet. Oh yeah, she's a girl!
Would like to know the answer to this one.

Touching the woofer is a poor man's spectrum analyzer. It will give you a pretty good estimation of the bass power of a sound or mix. Usually quicker than loading up an analyzer every time you are checking a sound.

Would love a pair of these, I've got the same monitors. I have an annoying cat and I have to unplug and flip the speakers so they are facing the wall everyday!. It gives me nightmares If I leave and forget to do it!!!!

i actually do this all the time.. haha i 'feel' the bass. its actually a part of my production precess now and then, to see if the bass is too 'flabby' I like a tight knitted sound. You can then push the funk outta it to make it loud and proud (without limiting i might add)

i dont see why they would make them for the vxt's and not the rp's. they have the same style with the 4 screws in the front. and ppl with rp's are more likely to damage their monitors. most ppl using rp's are bedroom producers and do not have a dedicated room for producing. makes more sense to me...
