Bad boy films!! Always wondered why they didn't just shoot him in the mouth though.

Pretty much all Paul Verhoeven stuff really. Total Recall is great, Phillip K. Dick with a Verhoeven edge.
Speaking of Black Swan/Showgirls, Darren Aronofsky was supposed to do the Robocop remake but backed out when he refused to make it 3D. I can't blame him, but that was the only reason I was kind of looking forward to seeing the remake. I think he could have done a good job. I think they are going ahead with the 3D remake but with a new crew. http://www.avclub.com/articles/robocop- ... app,53023/

Robocop is brilliant. The murder scene is one of most horrendous I've ever seen in a film though.

For those who haven't realised, this is where Boddika got his name.

Way ahead of it's time, set in Detroit, it's actually a fairly intelligent film with an undercurrent of
pathos and sadness. And of course, loads of explosions and awesome hardware.

As mentioned before it has shades of Phillip K Dick and Asimov.

The two follow up's were a bit of a miss really, the third one is rubbish. :(

Yeah, recently bought the box set- needent have bothered though as its all about the first one (although 2 does have a few good bits)......and the series isn't worth watching at all- just an advert to sell more robocop toys.

The original is a good story with great dialogue and action and tongue in cheek comedy and well over the top almost cartoon swearing and violence (especially for when it was made).

I like the sequels, they aren't great but there's a charm to them I think. The Japanese robot assassin and flying robocop make for some laughs, and Cain is a bad fucker... plus that stupid kid haha.
