monitor not working, help!

Post by Tombones » Sat Apr 21, 2007 3:14 pm

just got myself a pair of tannoy reveals (5a) but I cant get any sound out of one of them. The little red light at the front comes on and I bought them new so I dont think they're blown. any ideas?

unless their really blown, you'll usually hear SOME sound out of them. The light comes on so its probably not a fuse. Did you try hooking them up to other things to make sure you have your audio routed through your soundcard/mixer properly?

i dont know reveals very well, but check the back for any switches that could be thrown, or something. other than that, i dont know.

good luck with that, i know losing a monitor (or even worse, both) really really sucks.

you feel deaf.

keep me posted

thanks for the advice Misk but i think ive found the problem. cunningly disguised as a tannoy name badge is a mute button, placed just above the volume nob. mute - hence the red light. I feel like a total retard.
