Berlin is awesome. I saw Appleblim, George Fitzgerald and Roko when I went there in Aug. Pretty lucky really as I hadn't planned my trip to coincide with the night, it just happened to be on, saw a poster advertising it on the street. Still got it haha ripped it off and took it home with me. Wanted to go to the Berghain too but didn't managed to get round to that.
One for next time!

Yeah man haha the club was called Horst I think and the Krzbrg part must be short for Kreuzberg, one of the best places in Berlin I reckon.

Re: Dubstep, Berlin style
horst is one of the best clubs in berlin imo. been to too many good nights there - mala, appleblim, youngsta, tevo howard...
He danced for eighteen hours staring straight into the sun, until at length a great vision came... He believed the world was made of shadow and that he could dream himself into the real world that lay beyond...

I wanted to go to Berghain but i wasn't old enough... Seriously one of the sickest venues i've ever seen though. As i understand it, dubstep in Germany is deep with a heavy techno influence, like for instance Shed.

srsly i went to berlin and everyone i asked was either like "dubstep? i hate that shit, how can you dance to this" or "YEA MAN WISKA TWISTA N SHIT RIGHT?" etc. some of the techno folks liked it when i showed them some of the techier stuff like 2562 or scuba but most said it simply lacks rhythm (by which i suppose they refer to the lack of a lazy 4 to the floor beat even monkeys could dance to

Hmmm alright, that was just the impression i got when i was down there. I went to Hardwax were they pretty much only had Deep Medi, Tectonic, Apple Pips and so on. I also went to a record store which runs a deep house label which also had a couple of Apple Pips records. I think there is a great audience for the gritty, deep, techy stuff down there - mainly because it's were that kind of music has been growing for so long.hasezwei wrote:naw dude, dubstep in germany is like dubstep everywhere: WAAAWAAAAAAAAKRRRZZZZKRKRKRKKJensMadsen wrote:I wanted to go to Berghain but i wasn't old enough... gah hope not. Is there nowhere sacred left in the world?truefiktion wrote:love berlin! i can see dubstep being huge there soon
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.
Re: Dubstep, Berlin style
I don't know if they're all actually from Berlin per se, but - I hear German stuff like Anstam, Don Goliath, and Weevil Orchestra and just want MORE of that kind of sound. Seriously can't get enough of it.
If any of you can point me to radio streams, casts, mixes, anything - it'd be seriously appreciated.
