Headphones HELP PLEASE

i use akg k240 mk2 and beyerdynamic dt770 for mixing and a pair of audio technica ath-m45 for tracking vox

Is it just the Pro beats that are bad or are the Studio beats also included in that? My friend told me the studio beats are flat, looking for more insight into that if anyone knows.

nah they still have a huge boost in the lower frequencies. and there WAYYYY overpriced. sure they look cool, but for the price you can get much better headphones.

yeah man. for normal listening and mixing i would get the audio technica ath-m50's. keep in mind that these dont isolate quite as well as the hd280's and ppl report that the ear pads get a bit uncomfortable and sweaty.

now the hd280's are very good at isolating and not letting anything leak out, but from what i hear they are better for tracking vocals. but still really fucking good for mixing. i guess just the sound signature of the hd280's really pronounces and shows a lot of detail which is great for tracking and mixing high end detail.

so ideally if you have a pair of monitors and the hd280 pros that would be perfect. you could track on the hd280s. mix on the hd280's and then check your mix on your monitors, or vice versa.

i personally plan on getting a pair of ath-m50's just to have a second reference.

Ok so I've had a decent pair of headphones for a while now, but all the sudden, the bass in them is dead...they have absolutely no bass whatsoever. So I come to ask for some suggestions for a replacement set of headphones. Here is a list of restrains to narrow down which set to use:

-Must have bass
-Must have balanced frequencies (bass doesnt overpower mid and treble and its not too quiet either - same with the mids and treble)
-Must have a removable 3.5mm cord
-Must not leak
-Must feel comfortable
-Must be good quality
-Must be under $150

I will be using them for producing, rapping, and mixing. any suggestions?

u sure theyre 100? i checked the website http://www.sennheiserusa.com and its listed as about 50 more than that...on sweetwater they are 100 but sweetwater doesnt have the silvers...hmmm i guess that if i can't get the silvers, the black still looks nice

oh wow thanks i looked on google shopping and it just brought the price on the silvers from 175 down to 112...THANKS FOR THE ADVICE

Nah, I'm ordering the HD280s today, they look like a pretty good set. and the ratio of people who support the hd280 compared to other sets...well, the hd280 seems to be the favorite

lol, well its nice to get stuff better than what you already had lol...my old headphones are just noise-cancelling headphones not fit for studio and they lost all of their bass...they sux

always hunt google shopping and amazon and ebay as well. i have seen hd280 pros (black) go for $80-100 new. they used to be 150 but now the going price is usually 100 bucks.

no they do. theres a 1/4" jack that screws over the 3.5mm so you have both. i personally use the 1/4 all the time because i only use the headphones at home, with my interface..

And I don't think you understood what I was talking about. I meant that the headphones would have a socket in them and no cord attached to the headphones. I was hoping for a set that would be able to use any 3.5mm cable (like the ones people use to plug their iPods into their car stereo) and plug it into both the headphones and the computer for production or my ipod for listening...I can still mod it though, its not big deal.

well you can still plug them into any 3.5mm jack by unscrewing the adapter at the end. but yes you still do have to deal with the big cord. i guess i didnt understand what you were saying.

but the isolation is pretty damn good with these bad boys eh?

YES! They are pretty dang amazing compared to my last pair. Audio is much clearer and the seal around my ear is tighter. And I never realized that my tracks are somewhat lacking in bass! My only problem is the cable thing, but eventually I may mod it and get that out of the way but I am still really happy with these.

yeah the hd280 pros do not have any hyped bass or really any freq for that matter. so if your song kicks on the hd280's, it will kick on anything. which is good.

and if you do ever mod them. do some research and post up pics/info on how you did it.

for me tho its not really a problem as i never take them out of the house. i use earbuds for mobile use.

Yeah true man. I would also normally use buds for mobile use, but nope...my friend stole my buds and wont give em back lol.

EDIT: I was making sure that I would be able to do the mod in the future, but couldnt seem to get the cushions off of the cups. prolly just me bein pathetic, but theyre pulling too strong back and it feels like if I pull any harder, they will break and I won't have headphones again.
