Where to publish my music?
Where to publish my music?
Hello all, I'm looking for a way to get my music out to the public. Any suggestions? Would it be wrong to ask a DJ to spin it? Any suggestions please.

Yeah man, send that stuff to all the DJ's and labels you know. Networking is key. But make sure you're music is really good and ready to send. Trust me, if someone likes it they'll let you know. Just let it flow brother, let it flow. Don't be too forceful in your approach though cause that pushes people away. Be passionate and focused and people will hear your music. My two cents. I hope I helpeddrew408 wrote:Hello all, I'm looking for a way to get my music out to the public. Any suggestions? Would it be wrong to ask a DJ to spin it? Any suggestions please.

Awesome thanks guys!
Re: Where to publish my music?
I'm in the same boat, as I do not have a clue where to start. I have been into music all my life (Drums, Guitar, Vocal), and I have grown to making Techno music. I have created large quantities of Techno music, but have nowhere to send them to to see if this is something I should be continuing to follow as a dream, or just a hobby. I would be great if I could get noticed. Thanks guys!

BTW check out my songs on Soundcloud (Haven't uploaded them all yet).

Hey, my names Brendan Wallace. I have made music for fun, and thought I'd take a stab at getting my music noticed. I have my own unique style of Electronic music, and love making the music I do. Help us out by spreading the word and following me on Twitter!

Well it's a synthesizer I'm using on the Acid pad. I doubt Acid Techno makes sense. Either way I make Acid Synth and some 8-bit Sounding stuff...any suggestions what I should do in the meantime?

Find blogs or youtube channels that post the same style. Send them the track and hope.
DropBox on SoundCloud can be a nice tool too to sent the track to DJs/other artists that you like or inspire you.
Make sure to have an email title that describe the genre + the track with 2 or 3 keywords. don't put useless info in the title such as you name or the name of the track or the fact that it's free or new. no one cares and that won't help you have your email opened.
make sure that the "sample" of the body text of the email which appears a bit in the mailbox is DIFFERENT than the title. You have basically 60 symbols that will be displayed, make a good use of them.
Make the job easy for the blogger/owner of the youtube channel : Download link, soundcloud link, artwork (not mendatory, but precise the size if you send one), your facebook/twitter/whatever/.
These guys receive tons of emails a day, and most of them won't be opened. Be direct and sexy, it's the first step to push them to hear your track. Then it's up to them, and depends on the quality of the tune.

jesus
i would just send it out to as many people as possible on soundcloud
find the big and respected labels on here that people like and just keep sending and sending
you can use the same email for everyone if you like
if you doint get a reply then you need to resend resend resend
it would be worth looking into automating this emailing and soundcloud pming
not too hard and very very effective
