Writing from a brief : 001
Heres a new series I am going to be starting up, there is no winner or nothing but every 2 months, I will write a brief for people to write tracks towards.
KEY NOTES
Every brief will be fictional.
Dubstep ISN'T essential.
This is intended to help people writing within a mindset.
After each series, all tracks will be released FREE via a bandcamp page (unless author doesn't want their track to be)
So lets get on with it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
WFAB:001 - Dystopia
Client : Fictional Film Company (again, this is fictional...)
Project: Opening track for new Dystopian Action Film.
Overview : A land of gangs, crime, drugs and poverty where technology and information is the only means of currency. Everyone is corrupt and no one is to be trusted. Factions rule vast landscapes and sectors within city limits, there is small camps of revolutionist (called believers) who are fighting to bring government and civilization back to humanity.
Objective : Write a piece up to 6 minutes long to capture essences of the city - from the bad to the good, the opening shot will scale over the city showing key points of the landscape and its people.
Target Audience : The film will be directed towards open minded 20somethings and above interested in cultural and political driven plots which are heavy on dialog with minimal but realistic action scenes.

Well, since we have many other things running in conjunction like the sample and vst contests, also people are constantly writing for themself anyways - I just see this as a project people can work on while they're stuck/inspired.

Got 6 and a bit minutes done. Time to add speeches incidentals and do some eq/volume automation and it should be done!

Cool idea, will have a go if I get time.
Trying to get on MTV is like trying to be employee of the month at McDonald's.

This is an awesome idea but I think I actually would prefer it as a competition.
