After the family affair of 001, Hoya:Hoya is very proud to present three exclusive tunes from long time friends. Keeping with the strict policy of releasing music from artists who have graced our parties, this time representing London via Manchester via Leeds, Los Angeles and Milwaukee.

On this occasion, A-side duty goes to former Manchester resident, Eliphino. ‘Don’t Try Be’ is one of those tunes that people always ask about. An anthem in the making, it has been a regular drop at Hoya for nearly two whole years, and we are oh-so-proud that, finally, those rolling filtered synths, wah stabs and sugary sweet-but bitterly sour- vocal chops can now be made available to the wide world.

And as we head over to side B, we head over the Atlantic. Working from East to West, we stop by Milwaukee, for Lorn’s ‘Stranger’. Showing the next step of his evolution, following the critically acclaimed ‘Nothing Else’ album on Brainfeeder, it’s built around a riff so devastating it could destroy anything in it’s path. One for the floor, as well as the headphones.

Rounding the release up, in rudebwoy fashion, is Ras G and The African Space Program. ‘Speaker Smash’ is Ras’s take on dubstep, sounding like a Sun Ra and Scientist collab on DMZ, if there was ever to be such a glorious plate in existence. Featuring trademark airhorn, squelches and numerous calls of ‘Oh Raaaaas’, we feel blessed to be releasing one of our favourite joints from a true member of the extended fam.
