GIRLFRIENDS EVER BITCHING?

Post by BIFF_ » Thu Mar 24, 2011 2:14 am

For working on some tunes? From it being spending too much time on it, to (if you live with her) too loud an obnoxious for her to handle? I can relate :sofa:

Haha, I think this is a problem everyone has. Lucky for me, I dont have a girlfriend, after the last one and I broke up, I realised "Shit im only 16, im gonna enjoy myself and focus on dubstep production for now!"

Anyway, have you tried hitting her? :D

My girlfriend is currently travelling over the other side of the world.

Plenty of time for me to produce. Shame I haven't the slightest clue what I'm even doing. Ohwell 8)

Nope.

My missus actually suggested that I spend Sunday doing music stuff as she's got some reading to do and it provides a good soundtrack.

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

She loves it when I'm mixing, but she hates it when I spend to much time on the computer.

She don't understand, it's not only personal enjoyment, but it's also a steep learning curve. I tried explaining to her once what I was doing I said "I'm just adding an LFO using LFO 2 to the wave select, then using the matrix to control LFO 2 with LFO 1 before bouncing it out, and resampling". From that day she's been less harsh towards me and usually just comes and sits on the bed whilst I'm producing to take a listen.

But what I don't understand is what would they like me to do? It's 6pm, I don't want to prepare to watch the soaps, or sit on the sofa reading a magazine.

first bit of advice rusko gives in his masterclass tutorial is send the girl off to the salon or something

It's never really an issue for me to be honest, my lady seems to enjoy curling up on the bed with a good book when I'm having a mix or on air so all is good.

in my last decent relation i had no problems with that, and mixing (as in dj'ing) was never an issue.
but in general i hate producing with other people around, idk. my workflow is shitty enough already, if there's buddies around they're like "yeah man let's add this and that" and then i try to and it takes an hour and they're bored to death. THIS SHIT AIN'T INSTANT GRATIFICATOIN GODDAMNIT!

but if your bird is pissed bcause you're producing it's only natural because she feels ignored, do it when she's not around man!

That's no good if you want to have a mix/production session every day though. I've only got so much money and she's only got so much hair.
