prolly cause it's laid out like a piece of gear with buttons for diff menus, beyond me ffs my akai and kawai are bitches to work with, but just took some manual reading, which people with cracked gear tend not to readsymmetricalsounds wrote:played with this the other day, don't get why people are saying it's so confusing because it seemed fairly straightforward. having said that there are people out there that download cracked stuff and don't even know how to read a .nfo file.deadly habit wrote: try sq8l for starters

why would you even start this thread lmao
Re: sending demos to labels which use "naughty" plugs..
When I upgraded to ableton 8 the other week I ordered the boxed version to see if the EIC was any good (which it is :p) but this also means I now have a hard copy of the ableton manual. Bitch is just pleading to be read but she's also intimidating me...

ableton manual is a comparatively light read and entertaining as much as it can be for a technical manual, not worked all the way through it yet but getting there.paravrais wrote: Bitch is just pleading to be read but she's also intimidating me...

It probably sounds weird to praise a manual so much, but the Ableton manual really is the most informative and well written product manual I've ever read. Everything is explained very clearly and in a way that just makes sense. It's kind of like Live itself in that regard.

Well then, seeing as your trying to tell me not to pirate, why don't you tell me the names of "so many synths that can do what massive can and much more"paravrais wrote:That's complete bullshit. There are so many synths that can do anything massive can and much more. Just because Datsik uses massive doesn't mean that you can only make Datsik basses with it.zerbaman wrote:There are plugins that can get you close in FL, but as far as I know not that do the samedubmatters wrote:Most daw's provides you with enough plugins/etc to make a tune good enough for release.
I don't know why people wank themselves to death over a plugin that the latest producer on the teenybopper bandwagon is using.
I actually avoid looking for dubstep on youtube because of the sheer number of revolting remixes made using massive et al.
EDIT,
I don't use massive all that much, it's just the things that I use it for can't be done with anything else I know of.
Pretty much all synths are different and they work in completely different ways but you can achieve the same results if you know what I'm doing. Alchemy is known for making really pretty bells and ambient soundcapes but I made a really filthy brutal electro on steroids sounding patch last night in it. It's just about actually learning how to synthesise sounds rather than going to massive and going "hmm if I choose any waveform, daft filter and attach an lfo to the cutoff it sounds like datsik"
That's all I ask.
And listen to my tracks, name one that has a "datsik bass"
Mis-understood thatparavrais wrote:You don't think a wavetable synth is software?zerbaman wrote:Not free, does not sound like softwaredeadly habit wrote:there's nothing identical to massive with all the filters and effects built in, but all you really need is a wavetable synth since that's all it is at heart
if you can't live without it, how about you shell out the 200$
Despite just being told that massive is one?
Hmm.....

try sq8l for starters

Re: sending demos to labels which use "naughty" plugs..
Did I not give you a list earlier in this thread?? Like it's been said already, no synth freeware or payware will have the exact same interface as massive but there are shitloads that will be able to create the same sounds. You'll just have to learn to use them.
Oatmeal, Crystal, Synth 1, SQ8L, Nitrox, The TAL series, GTG synths (especially GTG ST 2008), Atlantis

What's with all this 'give me' anyway? Is it really that fucking hard to do the research yourself? Kids are so fucking lazy these days.

Well seeing as you're trying to convince me not to pirate my synths, it seems fairly logical that you give me some proof doesn't it?paravrais wrote:Did I not give you a list earlier in this thread?? SQ8L's nice, been on it all night, barely slept, although I have one question, is there some kind of phase/flange going on in the background or is it just my paranoia creeping in?

If I REALLY need to learn something I go learn that one particular thing through an online tutorial, youtube video etc.
