@DurtyD - Well done. Dig the sample, and everything is sounding money. The bass is milky.

Pony_Boy- Sick! This track is pro. Well organized and great production value!

I'm a noob when it comes to production, but here is a concept i have for a track. Rough, Incomplete not mixed or anything...does it have potential?

earcandy- sure does have potential. i think the arp in the back over powers a couple times but like you said really rough mix. but from what i was presented it definitely has potential

durtyd. man its starting to sound good. you need to bring up the kick just a little bit along with the snare so you can get their feel. im not hearing alot of bass on it but it could be these headphones.

Soundcloud
i decided to keep it at 175 and fool around with tempo changes in the shadow for right now haha

@ DurtyD - I think that there's not enough elements, or changes to your track. Yesterday I put on BartBmores remix of Fuck You and wrote down all the details as soon as it happened in the song in a sticky notes. Theres sooo many fills, different vocal chops, effects, opening filters and so on. Don't be afraid to put tons of stuff in your track.

@ Earcandy - I like the 'arp' sound. But the wobbs and drums need to be more upfront in the mix. Don't pan em, but try raising the volume.

@ oprs - The detuned piano is cool. Drums don't shine through though. Maybe a volume issue. Drums and bass should be upfront, loudest in the mix. When I'm listening to someones song and the drums are quiet but the lead is loud, I want to turn it up so bad, but I can't because the lead will kill me. But drums? They don't hurt me. It just sounds better as the loudest element.

DurtyD - loving it man but i agree with eldoogle, needs a bit more added to it, maybe try messing with your kick snare pattern abit and changing it every few bars. The bass synth is sounding sick!

Earcandy - intro and arp sound mint, deffo has potential, i'm not really feeling it when the bass 'cuts' - if you know what i mean. It sounds like the song is buffering or pausing unexpectedly, but that's just my opinion, if you're feeling it keep it in by all means.

orps - liking the piano, but you need to turn up your drums, i like the drum pattern changes and that pad sound, but they get abit drowned out by your bass.

brero - i like it. i feel like u could go up an octave at some point on that main synth.

durty d - def diggin it. it seems like its missing something. maybe a little breakdown changing it up for a bit then back

earcandy - i like the intro a lot. up until the first bass note its great but i feel like ur wobbles r too slow or something for the drum beat.

heres my track. not dubstep. i feel like i suck at mixing down idk. i also was thinking about splitting the big part and putting some kind of breakdown in there but i couldnt think of anything and didnt want to ruin it

Hey guys one more time changed the drum and snare pattern and added a sweep. I really can't think of anything else to put into it can someone suggest something specific?

I used to play The Legend Of Kage till my hands went numb. I also think this is the best video game soundtrack ever.

@unabomber - feelin it man, im a sucka for those video game noises haha, the snare could be brought up a little tho otherwise goodwork

@slyman - way to much lows, if mix downs are a problem for you, this help me with mine abit "http://www.independentrecording.net/irn ... isplay.htm". Hope it comes in handy.

@brero - like the arp you used if that is an arp your using, keep it up!

@oprs - sick tune mate

@earcandy - agreed with oprs, def has potential but I found that the arp draws my attention to much should be just the mixdown, check the link above

@Brero - Sounds really nice, it's just too much of the same sounds over and over.

@oprs - I love how filthy the track is. Good job on that one!

thanks for the feedback everybody, as I said before though I am a novice as far as true production techniques go. Mixing and EQing are still somewhat confusing to me as far as method and application, if you guys have any good references for some insight i'd appreciate it.
Brero- yeah i got lazy automating the LFO and the part where it cuts is completely unintentional

DurtyD - which arp are you talking about? The one that plays after the drop?

@Everyone - would you guys suggest different wobbles and synths i feel like the tracks going to be too redundant if I don't mix it up but i'm lost as to what sorta sounds to phrase the main wobble you hear now with. Maybe some flux pavilion style synths like in gold dust and cracks?

Oh and heres a work in progress that i abandoned a while ago, Remix of Kid Cudi's "Day n Nite" I made all the instrumentals, the acapella is the only thing unoriginal and this was before i discovered how to use "sub bass", and before i got my hands on Massive.

Feedback on that would be awesome too, i wanna open up the project file again and tweak it

Here's my newest WIP, any advice on the sub? Decided I had to make a chewin after seeing Killer Klowns from Outer Space a week ago lol

Soundcloud

Dirty, likin the feel of the whole song, but I guess I just keep thinking something drastic is going to happen to the bassline, or some type of changeup.. it feels kinda like an intro to a banger, but longer. That said, everything sounds really nice and in it's place, which is more than I can say for most of my stuff

Unabomber.. I love Legend of Kage haha ..and this is SICK ..I'm a sucker for video games.. well good ones lol ..you totally got the feel from the original with some extra oomph -- I like. You gotta finish this one ..and I may ask you for a 320

Mikey, I don't really know how to comment on the track itself, cause I dunno where you were really aiming, but some of the samples just don't sit right with me. To be fair, I'm pretty high, but I can't make out whats actually going on in most of it.

710- haha the begninning is so epic! girls with downpitched voices crack me up! those wobbles are modulated really well! but they are too distorted. they pretty much have no force behind em. the sub sounds good to me though! this song could be huge!!! keep workin at it!

Earcandy-nice! this track is dope as fuck man. but i think the wobbles are too detuned. cut that back a little, in my opinion! haha. add some variation to the drums too! i like the structure though. also lovin the vocal cutting/granulating in that second part.

DubMikey-The intro is boring man. that kick is too long too, shorten that, the wobble also has too much mid attenuation, give it more juice on the low end at least!(id add it in the high end too) the drums need variation. i think this one needs a lot of work. please dont be offended, im just being completely honest with you man! dont wanna sugar anything!

sooo...i think i finally think i have the 1st half of this song done! id love to have some feedback on this!
thanks!

710 im gonna have to agree with spray about zee wobbles. less is sometimes more! but i do dig the track. everything else is sounding pretty right

spray im usually not a huge fan of vocals with shit like this. but i do like this haha at 1:10 on it really has some good grove going on. the wbble needs a little work as far as sound wise i think but you could be aiming that direction

Soundcloud
took some advice went back and turned up the drums and the main synths down added and subtracted a few things. still got some tweakin but id say 95% done

@ sprayyypaint - :55 sounds like it could be super cool but doesn't deliver. Maybe add high frequencys? Or work on the synth, at least the high end of it.

@ sausmatoe - Love this song! That's crazy it's your first. It does sound like it needs a better mix down, the high midish frequencies could come out a little more. That would make it awesome. Also the kicks weak. As is the snare, still like it though. Percussions cool.

This is my first tune so go easy on me! Only been at it a few weeks...

Still have to do a proper mixdown and I'm not sure about the drums in the second half..... guess it could use a breakdown too.

Soundcloud

oprs - I'm digging it... sounds like you've got your own style going there. Only thing i'm not sure on is the amount of distortion on the snare... it's sounding pretty grainy.

spraypaint - vocal sample works really well and the drums are cool. I'm not really into the main synth sound though, it's sounding a bit tinny... I reckon you could beef it up a bit and make it a fuller sound.
