I like the clarity of sound in some of his newer tracks (Can't stop, Lines in Wax) and my understanding is that this is because he uses analog synths. I am still learning practically everything about production and couldn't tell you if this is correct or how much it matters. But I can hear a real precise sound coming out even though he'll mash several oscillating tones together.

Is this because he uses analog synthesizers? What are the differences between a synth like Massive that you manipulate from a computer and a physical synthesizer? How many producers use physical instruments in their production?

If I'm posting in the wrong place I'll take it elsewhere. But I think this applies to the flux conversation.

Out of all the circus crew, I'd rate him the best by far. Josh is a Good dude as well - chilled with him over the weekend here. Knows how to work a crowd.

Obviously not one for the heads, but the kids love it.

He is not my prefered style of dubstep, but there is no question that he is a massive talent! As a promoter who has booked him, I can say he is a very "with it" guy who is totally aware of what he is doing and where he wants to go. I really wish him luck with the creation of his live band!

Flux Pavilion is the type of artist who has developed a personal sound without making every song sound the same *COUGH* skrillex *COUGH*
I think he writes incredibly catchy melodies and his song structuring is usually interesting and on point
Not to mention the production is squeaky clean
Definitely my favorite on the Circus crew with Funtcase at a close second.

I can't stand Bass Cannon though. I think that song is so overhyped. I just don't understand what people see in it. Josh himself said that the goal was to fuse marimba and dubstep, but the only marimba I hear is the bells. You can just put bells at 140bpm and say that you've made a marimba influenced track :u:
It doesn't help that if you go to a dubstep event in the US you can expect to hear the tune dropped at least 3 times in a night.

I had to check Flux Pavillion out the other day, due to the popularity he has been gaining in the West Coast of Canada. So I checked out Bass Cannon, ok so the dude has kinda got some potential for the dirty dubstep sound, but that track has the worst hi-frequency tone EVER! I don't know why people would enjoy that sound so much, but it gives me a headache.
