It's the quality of the sub used as well, the treatment of the soundwave during production. Breakage sub > Flux Pavillion sub for example.

Just the low frequencies from the bassline when played loud on a good system. It's just as much physical as it is psychological.

It is real simple. It is what you feel on a big rig, nothing more nothing less. You can only know in your own head if you have experienced it which is why there are so many opinions but everyone who has felt it knows exactly what it is. Not one person in this forum can explain bassweight to you. You must go and find it yourself. Honestly.

all you guys are fucking ridiculous . what is bassweight ? it's literally the physical vibrations from the bass that you can feel in your chest like a weight. deep heavy bass hits like a heavy weight . nothing more. and you can feel that shit if the system is proper. if you've never heard proper dubstep on a proper system, you don't know what im talking about

I think it's a pretty limited view of a whole concept. Bassweight is not only about frequencies and vibrations, it's about sharing those feelings with other people too. I think that, even if I had the Valve soundsystem for me alone and Neverland spinning, I would still be missing the community part of it.

surely the original poster is just trolling?

bassweight is like that metaphysical neurological mind bending parable that juxtaposes between the light and dark sides of the conscious, while still retaining the mala loefah something something bass

We still having this debate? Seriously? Really simple. Don't make it into something it's not.
The world is made up of two types of people; those who have experienced and understand soundsystem bass weight and those who haven't.

jesus man Breakage is a perfect example. Breakage on a serious system is overwhelming

I was very impressed with the bass delivered by the Void Basys X's used in Neuron Pro Audios system

Bassweight = Implosion whereas most Tear-out = Explosion and that's something this new generation doesn't seem to comprehend. I'm not saying music can't evolve. But is it still the same music when the entire ethos and experience have changed? That's my point.
There is a middle road as ever of course. It's not black and white and one can enjoy the best of both worlds.
But don't bother looking for me amongst the front row massive. I'll be in the back invisible but present in my own space and time...if the line-up is right.
