Technics 1210 ToneArm Problems- HELP

Post by ohmydays » Tue Apr 05, 2011 3:27 am

Basically my tone arm is bent, not that much but enough for it to be visible and the needle just skates across the record and cuts it up regardless of changing any settings.

I figure i'll buy a new tone arm, do the ones that fit the mk2 also fit the mk5? as i can get one on Ebay new for about £50. Also how hard are they to change yourself? i have a mate who says it is not so difficult but i don't think he has too much experience if i am honest so i reluctant to let him open up my turntable.

Basically got no idea what to do as they are my first pair of decks and they have worked perfectly for ages until now.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks.
