Yes, though it is quite a lot. To put it in perspective the UK's GDP is about $2 trillion.
Re: Limewire owes $75 trillion
I was more posting that to show the monetary situation most countries are in. Obviously if for some unfathomable reason tomorrow we had to come up with 75 trillion earth dollars we could do it.
Re: Limewire owes $75 trillion
If the defendants had access to that kind of cash - or even a line of credit that was a fraction of that - they could easily hire an army of mercenaries to take out each and every single entire recording industry bigwig involved in this suit...
Hypothetically of course.

If you could find people that are willing to kill other people for $12,500 a head, you could kill every single human on the planet.
Hypothetically, of course.

I was thinking that with Bernard Madoff whao had nicked 18 billion dollars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Madoff) ......gone to prison but for that money thought he'd have put up a bit of a fight, or built some cool secret base.alphacat wrote:If the defendants had access to that kind of cash - or even a line of credit that was a fraction of that - they could easily hire an army of mercenaries to take out each and every single entire recording industry bigwig involved in this suit...

Re: Limewire owes $75 trillion
i heard warner brothers and the like employ people to put up fake torrents up online in a futile attempt to catch the ridiculous amount of people who illegally download stuff from the internet.

I second dubloke. By the way, how the hell could you fuck up a pc with limewire? Did you literally search for porn and downloaded the first thing that popped up?

"sir we logged his ip downloading a fake file named after our movie!"
"so he didn't actually download the movie?"
"errr he was trying to clearly..."
"get the fuck out of my court"
Re: Limewire owes $75 trillion
Well it could be real, but still, it could be argued that there was an implied license by wb to create a digital copy merely by making the torrent available for download.
