haha strange!deamonds wrote:Iv'e JUST finished reading it!! How much of a coincidence, his lectures led me to his book. Great taste sir!Coppola wrote:Deamonds, ever read Physics of the Impossible by Michio Kaku?
It hasn't dumbed anything down, but it is readable and covers loads of interesting topics.
Highly recommend it.
The chapter about psychokinesis was so engrossing.
The bit about antimatter and negative matter/energy is mental.
Re: BBC - Prof Brian Cox: Wonders Of The Universe
i know right!? The part in nothing where he talks about the matter & anti matter in a vacuum

Is he that Japanese American physicist dude that looks like an old asian porn star? I think I watched his documentaries, somethings ringing bells anyway.deamonds wrote:this was exceptionally poor, i found the explanation/comparison with mountain ranges utterly confusing and pointlessfirky wrote:Did anyone think the one on Gravity was pony? This series has been weaker than the last but this episode was really bad. If anyone watching needs the basic principles of gravity taught to them, then why are they even watching the show or up at 9pm?
watch Michio Kaku's lectures on youtube, he is great

It's a decent book, read it awhile year ago. Nicely different from most of the usual physics books. Although I thought the later chapters weren't as good as the early ones.Coppola wrote:haha strange!deamonds wrote:Iv'e JUST finished reading it!! If you're looking for another un-dumbed-down book, I'd like to suggest Lisa Randall's Warped Passages.

he ice skates pretty much all the time, very little of his work was written whilst not ice skating... fact.firky wrote:Is he that Japanese American physicist dude that looks like an old asian porn star?
