Alex Green and Damon Kirkham aka Instra:mental collaborate with Black Atlantic to celebrate the imminent release of their debut long player - 'Resolution 653'.

The duo are best known for their forward thinking productions, that bridge the gaps between drum'n'bass, electro, techno and off-kilter hip hop.

When not in the studio, they run the untouchable NonPlus+ label (which has released work by Skream, Jimmy Edgar, Werk Discs' boss Actress and Kassem Mosse) and are two thirds of the team (with dBridge) behind the groundbreaking Autonomic podcast series and associated nights.

Recently the pair have begun to push things even further, as they flex their individual creativity, most notably under the Boddika and Jon Convex monikers.

Sherard Ingram aka DJ Stingray has been an active member in Detroit's electronic music community for nearly 25 years. He has worked with the likes of Carl Craig, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir and Kenny Dixon Jr (aka Moodymann), going on to release as Urban Tribe on James Lavelle's Mo Wax label (which culminated in the release of 1998's critically acclaimed album - 'The Collapse of Modern Culture') and was, most importantly, recruited as tour DJ for the legendary Drexciya outfit in their final days. His sound pushes the template established by peers Underground Resistance (and, of course, Drexciya). He is, of course, also well known for wearing a mask when he plays.

Flying in from Leipzig, Germany, is Kassem Mosse (aka Gunnar Wendel). His productions have received international recognition in the last year or two, with their unusual amalgamation of various electronic styles - a sound that has been compared to Basic Channel, Nightmares on Wax and "Surgeon played at the wrong speed" (Boomkat). His work constantly challenges preconceptions (much like the Instra:mental boys), with releases on labels as wide ranging as FXHE, Metalheadz, Doldrums, Instra:mental's own NonPlus+ and essential Berlin based imprint Workshop.

Completing the line-up is long time ally and Autonomic collaborator - dBridge. One of the most forward thinking and open minded producers in the game, dBridge continues to forge new paths and destroy genre tags with apparent ease. 2011 promises to be another big year for him and his Exit label, with the recently released Mosaic compilation instantly becoming required listening for fans of contemporary electronic music.

I thought that overall it was a very good night, I like the Scrutton Street warehouse venue, bit of a shame there where not more people in attendance but then again always nice to have a bit of space to move. Only caught the last 20 minutes of Kassem Mosse which was a bit of a shame as I had been looking forward to that but it didnt blow me out of the water however I thought Instra:mental really worked the crowd well and was great to hear records like thomp and When I dip. I enjoyed Dj Stingray but maybe got a bit bored of it towards the end and was quite suprised (in a good way) when D-Bridge kicked of with some Jungle and older sounds so thoroughly enjoyed that, myself and my mates where trying to remember the record he played in the first 20 minutes or so which was quite a heavy roller with the high end rave stabs and then drops down to a sub break before launching back into a hoover style hardcore break probably a bad description but sure someone will remember it, second time in the last 3 weeks I have seen these guys play and they never disappoint.
