A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
Good effort on their part I think. The melodic bits are actually really nice.
Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
yea the well played riff sounds really nice
that attempt at a drop is a bit gay tho...yes im aware violins dont make low frequencies n all that...(to the scientists)

Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
do they not have drumline or band where you went to school?ketamine wrote:^ Yes. The girl on the piano has just got me beside myself.
1 - She listens to Electronic music.
2 - She listens to Dubstep.
3 - She can PLAY THE F*CK out a piano.
4 - She’s HOT/FIT
5 - …nevermind…
I could go on and on, but I might die of depression knowing I’ll never meet a real life girl like that…
Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
i thought it was good!
and yeah that girls dress is stupid..
just realized you've been taking the piss on this forum for about a month
yeah the melody was very nice... i felt like they could have tried something more clever for the drop... have the violins do the screech and the piano do the voicey bass?Caski wrote:yea the well played riff sounds really nice

Makes perfect sense to me and happens in commercial pop music every week, girl/boy bands cover countless old famous tracks, why would they cover an old underground tracks no one knew?

Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
This sounds exactly like music from a mid-90s RPG. Something like Chrono Trigger. When you’re in a cave, or perhaps the item screen, selecting potions and changing stats… *nostalgia* They made the best midi music in history during that time…ashley wrote:Cut the white girl out of the picture and I'd love to see them re-create this:

not trying to hate, but as someone who has played piano for 26 years, covering a pop song really doesn't qualify you as 'the real deal'. You're taught to identify key, tempo, and try and play your favorite tunes on the piano by about age 11.
I think you're more amazed by the vagina aspect than her rather average piano playing.
PS: your average high school choir/band member in the USA spends an hour a day in class fucking around with learning to play their favorite tunes, let alone playing ones like daft punk which there is sheet music for.... just sayin don't get too caught up on the vagina aspect of things.
PSS: if you're looking to fall in love go to your local music program and bring her your fav tune and ask her to do a rendition of it on the piano, giver her 24 hours and she'll give you something to fap about.

you'd be surprised how many video games do this. I've only contributed audio (personally) on 2 video games but it's pretty standard to write a song and simply use the default ableton orchestra pieces to make what sounds like a genius orchestra track.
if you're into it, go cover a mega man tune and substitute each individual midi track with your choice of an orchestra instrument and throw it up on youtube and see how many people give you ups

Your average girl: “Whats Daft Punk? What’s Skrillex? What’s D&B? What’s Dubstep? Is that like, Techno? You listen to Techno? Yeah I don’t like Techno”pkay wrote:ketamine wrote:After further investigation, this girls the real deal. She has ALWAYS covered electronic artists… here she is, super young, covering DAFT PUNK

This girl: (Knows what it is, listens to it, is musically talented and bothers to sit down and play it out for FUN on without any need for the above inane & insulting conversation)
This is what I’m all

Truth ^^^
At least you won't find her on "Girls that look like Skrillex"
Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
Daft Punk sold millions of albums, drum and bass is on madden video games, grand theft auto, tons of racing games. Dubstep is on MTV, vh1 shows, gossip girl, tmz, etcketamine wrote:

Did you honestly grow up without chicks that weren't into EDM?
It's kinda insulting and inane to imply that a girl with taste in music is something rare. Girls like music too... they just generally don't feel the need to walk around chest thumping about it like dudes do.
You're implying girls are generally too stupid to enjoy the same music as you
Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
No I’m not implying, I’m outright telling you that’s 95% of the conversations I’ve ever had with girls. I live in Baltimore, this isn’t the UK. Any electronic music is “techno” and instantly dismissed around here. So YES, I grew up without knowing any chicks into EDMpkay wrote:Daft Punk sold millions of albums, drum and bass is on madden video games, grand theft auto, tons of racing games. Re: A Piano/Violin Cover of Skrillex
Do you ever go to the shows in the baltimore/dc / philly area? Plenty of women there. Some of the baddest chicks in the drum and bass scene I've met over the past decade and a half came from your area.ketamine wrote:

You're also assuming this chick is awesome on a personal level and isn't simply playing 'techno' on her piano.
One of my exes recently moved to baltimore. She can't play any chemical brothers on her piano but she has the entire moving shadow cata and hardware cata's on vinyl. I could hook it up if you can assure me your cock wouldn't explode.
also 'this isn't the uk' ... dude if you haven't experienced some of the flat out badass chicks that stateside has to offer in the house scene you're missing out.
My point is, if you're gawking over a chick liking edm you need to man up and just start talking to chicks. Chicks have passionate taste in music just like dudes do.... but you have to actually talk to them to find out as women generally don't broadcast what they're all about to try and get attention like us guys do
