New to Dubstep... Please Help
I've been drum n bass for years and know where to buy it, but dubstep is new to me. I've got the Skream album and a few bits on Tempa, but if
some one can give me a list of 10-20 essential tunes I should get on vinyl which i can still buy online on a site like juno or redeye records.
Much obliged.

Hmm, thats hard to say to be honest. Most of the tunes i would consider 'essentials' in my collection you cant get hold of new anymore, just have to keep a look out on ebay etc.
However, the dmz label is currently in the middle of repressing a load of their back catalogue, and pretty much every piece of wax they make is essential. And similarly skull disco releases are ALWAYS a treat, and 3,4,5 and 6 are all available atm i think.
Look for the deep medi musik label aswell, some fairly essential ones on them, but again most are sold out.

i'd say most things on tempa, tectonic, skull disco, all dmz, all stuff by reso, rusko, hench crew, pprrrrrpppp mind gone blank.... too many to mention. somone help me out please....
alot of d1's stuff, pitch black label, mathhead, elemental, burial, alot of planet mu stuff, but to be honest, these are just labels n people i love. dunno about essentials. sorry.
and still, the list goes on and on.
your best off just buying all the dubstep allstars cd's and trawling through the internet and this forum. alot of homework, but well worth it.

I'd say start with the big labels like Tempa, Planet Mu, DMZ, Storming etc, and figure out what artists you like and then find their releases on other labels. Then listen to that label's other releases and so on. Just keep branching out like that and I'm sure you'll have no trouble wondering where the hell all your money went

bleep is AWESOME. some of the stuff is older, but they have a lot of label back catalogues that are full of tasties. check hotflush in particular, they've got a lot.

try reading the sticky thread at the top of this forum, all the links are there for the new heads so you don't need to ask.Time Nice wrote:How about digital Dubstep? Can anyone reccomend a site to peep/purchase mp3's? I'm not asking for any pirated music, I want to pay for them legally. I have been using ableton live and I am looking for some fire tracks to download.
