Drugs at a rave

Post by MCwillywarmer » Fri Apr 15, 2011 2:34 am

Do you get sick of people at raves mashed out there heads on chemicals? i feel overpriced drink prices almost encourages drug taking at events. Is there any problems or issues that come with this or should people have the right to take what they want at a dance?

People will do what they want as long as they can get away with it... Its their freedom of choice. Dance music promotes these freedoms as it allways has since the days of Disco. Although I personally hate to see the young ones come and melt their brains on the dance floor it is their choice. I do know that they mostly just come to events, shows, etc. just to have a safe place to get blasted and not be sitting in their bedrooms. And on the drinks issue depending on where you live ( i live in the USA) majority of those I see on large quantities of drugs (noticable to a high degree) appear to be under the drinking age as is which is also probably another reason they are on drugs instead of getting loose with a few drinks.

how do they get into nightclubs if they are underage?

fine to have drugs to enhance a gig. the problem comes when people are using shows merely as places to do them. not only is that fucking sad, but the mashed stnuc piss me right off

It should be people's own choice.

Aslong as they are having a good time and are not in my face/anybody elses face about it........carry on!

When the drug taking leads to clothes being removed and sweating their hairy man tits on me, while chewing their faces to high heaven....you've done too much.

This.

I am under the drinking age though, and I can get drink bought for me if I want :) I have been in trouble with police a few times for having whilst around town but hey. My point there is that people under the age don't need to turn to drugs, dunno though, up to them

I think as long as u use in moderation (extacy to be specific) than there's no problems, it enhances the experience tenfold. But it sucks to see when people can't control that moderation, and loose grip.

I like to get a little mash up when i go out to a "rave". nothing wrong with it.
Until someone gets to far gone and starts acting up.

Sidenote, When did rave become a term for a legal event/night?
maybe im getting old fashioned.

The 90's

I've been going to nights for over 10 years now so i'm used to people on stimulants, it's the norm. People mash up on ket i'm still trtying to get to grips with. As LA Boxers said though, as long as they are still able to respect the people around them, or at least have soberish friends to put them in check, I have no problem with them. In fact, I don't think a night would be the same without them...

I find it amusing, unless they're being pricks. Pissheads are always far worse, however...

Drugs don't ruin raves, people do.

I don't even mind the people who are chewing their lips to pieces with their eyes looking backwards, as long as they stick to chewing their own face.

Ketamine at a rave though....seriously. Take whatever the hell you want, just leave the K at home.

Completely up to the individual. If someone wants to get completely fucked off their tits after a weeks work/non-work then fair play.

Agree with boxers, nothing wrong with it until they start getting out of hand. I love getting mandied up on nights out, but try not to go overboard as i see how it can piss people off. Though I hate drinkers who always complain about people taking drugs no matter how little or how much someone's taken, and often see themselves as better people for not taking anything else, remember... YOU'RE DRUGGED UP TOO.
