Realizing that all your old friends suck

Having a revelation that I no longer have anything in common with people I used to kick it with, and really everything down to even our world views is different. In fact, I find them all to be annoying and have bad tastes.

Perhaps this happens to all people approaching 30...

I've been different to my mates for years...pretty much nothing in common besides sarcastic humour and drinking.

From what I can tell so far you make and lose touch with many many people through out your life. Including some people who you think you'll know all your life. There's only one or two who you will actually keep in touch with no matter what through out your life.

There's about 3 people I have known for twenty years or more and despite living, at times, on opposite ends of the planet. We always seem to keep together. There's also a couple of others (one ex) who I'll always love, even when I meet another girl and fall in love with her. The other is one of my best friends, I love her as though she was family, in fact I pretty much do see her as my sister.

My point? Forget about it. That's life. You are unto them as you they are unto you! Roll on, dawg!

i left all my friends behind when i had to leave boarding school in late 09 and the more time i spend in isolation the less i want to see them again like... they're just getting high all day and having these weird ideas about life where you will never have to work to achieve shit, like it's all just a giant party and you could just rent a fuckin bus and travel around the world.
and then theyre pissed when i dont want to be part of their plans, like i'm betraying them or something, and when i'm like "yeah i'd consider it but how the fuck are we gonna pay rent, or food or anything?" they tell me i have lost my spirit and other weird shit like that. i mean seriously? i've lost my spirit because i like having something to eat and a place to stay? what the fuck's that 'spirit' anyway, last time i heard shit like that was when some mexicans were trying to tell me germans had no soul just because we don't hump each others instead of saying hello
