I don't post much on here but I've been a huge fan of the dubstep sound for 4-5 years now and funny enough with the movement aligning itself with techno more and more as time goes on, I've developed a strong preference for old school rave music..not sure really how that happened but it did. I'm interested in getting into the sound of rave before it splintered into hardcore and jungle, Not really interested in acid house/new beat/pre 1990, and not interested in straight up jungle rollers of '94 onwards. Just lookin for that sweet spot of crazy rave, Manix's tunes pretty much sum up what I'm looking for: jangly epic piano rolls, bouncy breakbeats, hilarious female vocals, hoover sounds are a plus. Bonus points if you can send me in the direction of some dark ravey tunes (minor key based tunes) Not sure really how to start since this stuff is 20 years old now (and still sounds way crazier than most dubstep). We have any fans here? any recommendations on where to start? Just been grabbing random mixes from random places. Thanks, oh, and PLUR!!

The great thing about old skool rave stuff is that a lot of it is mixable with dubstep!
