@Glue Reed
Cool song, was it gonna be for the sample pack contest?
It should be longer, but I like it. The kick sounds a little weird, maybe give it a bit more low end. I like the bass sound, but it's not as powerful as it should be I think. I'm doin other things right now, so that's all I'm really noticing, but I liked it.

@zerbaman Indeed, I was thinking something along those lines also. Thanks for the input

@rebel thanks, yea focusing on the first half mostly since I feel once I get that down, the second half will be easier.

@glue Yea I was feeling that the bassline needs to be phatter or needed a little changing (there's no sub bass currently). I have a small reverb on it but I'll try tweaking it some more; as for distortion I agree I need to mess around with this more, currently has small distortion. I'm currently using resampling on this track for the bassline so changing the wave form might not be possible since I forgot to save the sound as a preset :u:. Thanks for the input though, I'll definitely try to mess around with the distortion more since it is definitely something I need to improve on and I am weak in.

cheers

@Bola - big mate like how it rolls! the only thing that i can suggest that others havnt is perhaps resample the bassline and chop it up? or maybe just chance the lfo rate and pattern! good though! defiantly in to it!

@zerbaman - nice roller man! really well produced! excellent sound quality, i like the kinda bell/wind instrument synth alot! fm synthesis? i would say the tambarine and then the ride could perhaps have more of a interesting pattern which could give the track some more dynamics?

this is an update of a track i put up the other day and want some feedback on what ive changed before i go further down this road. Also first time people are telling me to use some incidentals... im guessing jsut reverbed out hits etc? Thanks in advance!

@JBE loven this intro man. damn just gets better..truthfully it satisfies my ears. not saying it needs it but just go through and give it that fine tuning to how you like it. great job!

@Glue Reed creative man nice try and smooth out your transitions a little more. i almost picked on that rimhit in the intro but i grew to enjoy it. i really like the samples man. that little guy that sneaks in at 2:36 slightly distracting id suggest maybe more reverb on it to blend it in

@johnny666 good track great idea just make those transitions more smooth. the track is also seems very rushed. not bad at all for your 2nd track keep it up

@DreamThief from what it was to now...amazing...great work man i have no complaints. keep it up

@ this is sound great i was noddn my head to this my only thing is the bass line needs a little more effects to it slightly plain other than that i enjoy.

This is mine im hoping this will be the last time im posting this up here.. thanks to everyone who gave me advice. i lowered the bass, it and got the distortion to stop oddly ran into a strange happening, itunes and reason both play it fine on the other hand soundcloud sticks this high freq hit along with my bass. other than that i smoothed it out made slight changes on the percussion. probably very unnoticeable but makes the difference and i have a name for it now :) enjoy, and like always will return feedback!

@specimen yarp: drumstepppin' Good energy in the lead, though I think you could add more in the high freq percussion, maybe a hi-hat. For me one of the things I like about drumstep is the fast dnb type hat contrasting with the halftime tempo.

@kidstrange: I like this sort of sound a lot with the ambience and all. I think it could be improved with some faint note or something in the background that builds up. Not like a heavy drop but one of those background things that sort of sneaks up on you.

@ng gamma: I like where it's going, I think you might try around buildups to put in little split second areas of silence followed by a hard hitting sound. More dynamics and stacatto bits here and there could give this track a really cool feel to it imo.

Here's an intro beat I've been working on as of late, I'm having a hard time coming up with a good synth line to go with it though, that doesn't seem out of place and/or distracting.

@eldoogle - its at about 16% if recall correctly, good call on that. and i noticed that space problem also, any ideas on how to make it sound better?
Ok. Well I think you did a good job at panning the lead around. The build up is sorta cool. Do you use stereo spread at all? Hearing bass in the middle and high frequencies panned out sound good. Also maybe turn your synth down so the drums shine through more. To me it seems like your intro is fine then the drop is where it sounds too spacey. Is there a kick when it drops? I can't hear. Right now I'm listening through acceptable laptop speakers but earlier it was through monitors.

not using stereo spread but ill try it out. my big problem is trying to make my bass patches after the drop sound more like theyre in the same room

@kidstrange - Very nice, I like the intro and love the atmosphere! In my opinion you should make the bassline more deep and phat! :)

@Biff - Not really my type of music, but sounds good to my ears. Still needs some work though. Keep at it bro!

My latest work, tell me what you think, all feedback is appreciated:

@DubMikey
Tune is sick man, though I think you could lower the static just a tiny bit. Also, the bass sounds too "squary" in my opinion, maybe add a little saw? But you def have something going on, reminds me of Emalkay alot.

@Biff
Sounds cool man, love the shakers/hats, but I think theres too much gap in between the snare and the next kick. Add some delay or reverb on that snare (I hate reverb, I'd go with a subtle delay). I'd go with a pure sine synth on this one, with a jungle-ish melody (?). I'd literally Google "Jungle song" and grab some melody ideas from whatever comes up :lol: .

@kidstrange
Love the intro man, real deep, maybe lower the reverb on that kick just a little. That "wub" sound sets the mood to the song together with the bird sounds. I just found the bass melody rather repetitive, then again, the other sounds remove the repetitiveness.

Here's the continuation of my latest track. Still having some trouble getting that synth to sound right. Plus, I still wanna add some vocals in the beginning before the drums kick in. Ideas?

dubmikey- its kinda like the synth just sits over top of everything. snares is barely audible at some points. needs some changing up in the sound honestly. or its just another bra attempt

kidstrange - not totally digging the intro seems like it needs a little more? but i dig when it drops. its reaaaaaaaaaaal nice.

specimen- really seems like you cranked everything to 11 and said fuck it.. the back ground bass in the beginning sounds the longest queef ever honestly..

I like the piano melody, sounds really dark and suits the style of your track.

For constructive feedback, the only real thing I noticed was that the wobble sounds kind of muddy, perhaps it could do with some more highs? The rest seems to be good as it is so far!

NG_GAMMA - your main synth is too low in the mix, kicks are a little dominant. sounds good otherwise.

kidstrange - nice tune. IMO the lead synth that comes in as of 1min is a little distracting/unecessary but just taste. great vibes.

dubmikey - sytlistically not my thing at all so hard to judge, but your lead 'wobble' sounds quite dry to me.

Randomic - cool ideas but 'wobble' is far too loud in the mix. I think you could find a better piano patch too.

Gluereed - lovely tune - does not need any form of aggressive synth/wobble in there imo.

Dream Thief- really nice percussion chioce. skilled construction.

Zebraman - that is gorgeous. cannot fault it.

Ty man I appreciate it. Nah no sample pack contest. I don't think my computer can handle having that on it and I'm pretty sure Reason would die on me if I had more than a couple samples on a song. Just took the vocals for this song "The Leanover" by Life Without Buildings and messed with them. I have problems mixing sub because I just have crappy headphones and when it gets put onto soundcloud, there's always this annoying high end squeak that winds up on the sub. It happens whenever I listen to songs on youtube also with heavy bass; I'm guessing it has to do with the compression because it doesn't happen on foobar or whatever. I'm gonna try and bump up the 808 hits a little bit since that's the bass I have going with some reverb and ish. I also have a sub underneath it all but if I make it louder, it fucks up the compression and I don't know enough about production to fix it :/ Which kicks are off? The ones in the first half or the bigger ones in the last third?

@kidstrange and WIFE, ty. I'll mess around with the aggro synth that's on that one half bar and if I can't make it sound more original or fitting, I'll probably take it out if it's not adding to the texture of the tune.

I'll make more comments either tonight or tomorrow; gotta finish up work for finals :u:

Thanks for feed! And agreed, I'm back to a muddy wobble. I'm experimenting many different thing, changing waveforms, changing pitchs, raising highs and lowering some mids, but I think I haven't gotten there yet :s
Anyways, i'll keep on trying and will reupload once I think I'v got something good in :Q:

@Wife
The intro is a bit too long and monotonous in my opinion. these pads sound quite cheap to be honest. I like the drop though, liking the percs and all the instruments there! the wobble was fucking tight bro. hihats sounding really good 1.30! :)

@Randomic
I don't dig how the piano goes at 0.15.. it sounds a bit to computeristic and stiff. although at 0.27 it sounds much better! liking these piano "sweeps" or w/e and fx. drums are sounding nice. drop is sounding awesome, but please go with a section without taht piano!!!! :) btw, I thought the synth sounded good :)

@DUbmikey
The sound of the wobble is really nice. and I mean it!! although I'd say you keep it at less notes to keep the filth!!! sounding quite weird with that melody imo! drums sounds solid.

@Biff
How about a filthy dirtdutch synthlead on that?? would sound quite awesome haha

@Kidstrange
LIKING THAT KICK! real sweet. interesting intro :P I like it! drop is interesting aswell :P nothing I listen to unfortunatly... but it seems well made! although that boppy synth is quite muddy :/ the drums were sensational though! :D

over to my track! Dubstep/garage/chillstep or something.. :P hope you enjoy and please leave some ideas or tips or whatever! :) safe (feel free to download if you are feeling this)

So far ive got alot of great feedback but sooo much mixed opinions, many love/hate - the kick, final results made it more dry. I added the synth that plays at 0:13 to the very start. the birds also faintly come in and out from the start. the drop is the same. i may or may not changed the "whoa" sound since many find it distracting although many love it. it will indeed stay but perhaps smoothed out.

@Biff good start like that panning imo needs more change up and stronger builds. your title is jungleclock so why not have some jungle sounds in there and some ambient pads i cant see a "wobble" being on this track just a very deep bass line forsure.

@WIFE I love the chimes drop is nice wobble satisfied me but..the intro seems like it was just thrown together little bit more work on that intro and your set man

@superginger "nothing I listen to unfortunatly..." we both have pretty chilled out tracks man :?

i dig your vibes man i dont really have to much to pick at really like the "oohs" maybe add some "aaahs" other than

there when it picked up but otherwise i really like it well produced track manee

@Oprs - vibein to this just sounded like it had some open spaces to me and dident really like that sound you drop in at 1:24 turned me off
and some sounds are way tooo loud could def use a nice mixdown but otherwise reall like the vibe

@Randomic - goinn innnn homie sick track love it just dident like your wobble.. i loved the melody and modulation just the sound of it dident sound full and
wide enough to me but thats just my opinion otherwise real track man.

@KIDSTRANGE;; dark intro im diggin';; dark drop im diggin;; they go good together, i imagine myself in some evil forest full of mist as the sun sets when the second drop kicks in;; maybe it was a little too early to drop that subbass in. the outro was a bit off for me;; maybe instead of automating the drums yu couldve thrown some delay on it. its good all in all. @THEHUMAN;; the subbass drop sits in very well with the pads, i think the break starting from 1:52 to 1:56 was unnecassary. its nice and chill tho i like that. @SUPERGINGER;; this is phenomenal;; deep and heavy ;; the vocals could use some more effects; second drop at 2:51 is very cool; it gives the track some edge;; i think some twinkly little arps would sit well during that drop if yu let them sit back in the mix. SO; my other track "bring it come" some how has gotten fucked up and its back to the old intro that it originally had, which is a bummer i was workin hard on that shit;; ima get back into it tho;; in the mean time, i would appreciate some feedback on this WIP Soundcloud

Thanks man! what I meant was that I'm simply not a fan of the kind of ambient/atmosphere you have in your song. but I pointed out that the production was well made, and I've heard song similar to it but that's not what I listen to :P it's just a preference thing :) safe

Thanks duude! :D
about your track,

simply amazing. production value is sky high. percs are sounding real crisp... and not to mention that fucking bass! it is so good! :D 1.20 just kept up with my expectations of the track.. I'm glad you said such nice things about my track cause yea.. I'm really impressed with yours! :) (true story) although if I have to criticize anything.. it would be the melody! I'm not feeling it as much as I liked the rest of the production.. ofc it is a preference thing but maybe you like to here other peoples opinions :P big up man
