A little known piece of trivia about AKA AKA ROAR! is that we are in fact raging Royalists. We simply can't get enough of Britain's incestuous first family. So you can imagine our excitement when we realised that the next AKA AKA ROAR! falls on the very same day as the Holy matrimony between that uber posh girl and the boring Prince that didn't get caught smoking weed or was pictured dressed up as a izan. Now that last bit may... or may not be 100% true, but what certainly is true is that to help you celebrate that momentous (or potentially hideous...) day we have put together a lineup of such musical intesity that when conceived brought a collective tear to the eye of all involved...

Cyantific
Fierce
AMC
March party was massive! A big thank you to all you who came down. Now come join us again for some more innovative drum & bass! All sets strictly 100% vinyl. And don't forget its the royal wedding that weekend so we've all got friday off and all you lucky brighton students will have your loans 2 days before on the 26th. Good times! :)

Cyantific [Hospital] [Critical]
Formerly a duo and now just a one man band, fronted by Jon St...anley, Cyantific originally met at high school and were gathered up into the Hospital fold in summer 2002, after a tip off from High Contrast no less. A series of 12"s, remixes and compilation appearances helped to build their diehard underground fanbase.

It was 2006 which saw the release of their Debut LP Ghetto Blaster; an epic album of futuristic beats which won instant plaudits from both fans and critics alike and really marked Cyantific's place in D&B history. Remix work and extensive touring followed, with Jon taking his djing to a new level.

Recognised in march 2007 when Cyantific scooped the highly prized Best Breakthrough DJ award from BBC 1Xtra - It was apparent that Jon has some serious skills, and he's on a mission to spread the gospel according to Cyantific far and wide. After Cyantific gave a mixing masterclass on Hospital Mix 6 it is now, in 2009, and on Hospital Mix 7 that we grab a sneak of what he has been working on. "Empty Streets" & "Space Zombie" come straight from his studio bunker.

In a Strangely blurred area of South West London on Google maps, there are reports of tech, funk and breaks well above normal levels. In regular djing trips outside of the compound, Cyantific has leaked more and more space age material.

Fierce [Quarantine]
Fierce has been at the forefront of the drum & bass scene since the mid 1990s, starting with his early excursions at No U-Turn from the tender age of 16 to his involvement in some of the scene's seminal musical moments such as 'Alien Girl', 'Locust', 'The End' and 'Tightrope' on prestigious labels including Prototype, Virus, Metro, Ram, BC, DSCi4, DNAudio, Renegade Hardware and 31 Records.

As well as bringing his undoubted skills to the table on the production front, Fierce has long been known as one of the most exciting and energetic DJs around, widely respected by both his peers and drum & bass fans alike. Still harbouring an insatiable love for dubplates and vinyl ahead of MP3s and CDs, Fierce really is a DJs' DJ, bringing sounds from across the spectrum and uniquely fusing tracks together in the mix to create a new and fresh sound every time.

so many good nights coming up in May, I'll try and keep this thread updated :corndance:

Next one:
SUPERCHARGED presents PSA>>| - MARCUS NASTY & MC RANKIN, SPYRO, MENSAH - 06/05/11 @ LIFE
SUPERCHARGED presents a one off weekend special at LIFE Club, with an unmissable line up covering Dubstep, Funky, Garage and Grime! Presenting local independent clothing label 'Pear Shaped Apparel' hosting the night... this is not one to be missed!

MARCUS NASTY + MC RANKIN (Rinse FM)

Marcus Nasty is recognised WORLDWIDE as the Uk's number ONE Funky House Dj with over 10 years experience. He is respected and regarded as one of the leading pioneers within the UK House industry - not only mixing the music but also by scouting & promoting the biggest artists to come out of this scene. This much sought after Dj also has a weekly radio show on London's award winning RINSE FM every Weds 7-9pm - with many artists performing live on his show whilst he is showing off his unqiue mixing skills & ability to choose the next Funky House hit tracks exclusively.

SPYRO (Rinse FM)

Sir Spyro has emerged as Rinse FM's premo grime selector, responsible for the stations most popular weekly grime show. He's also Tinchy Stryder's Tour DJ! What makes Spyro 'Top 3 Selected' amongst Grime DJs, is his breathtaking ability to take Pioneer CDJs and turn them into a musical instrument. This instrument makes crowds lose their minds. In a club, on his weekly Monday 5-7pm Rinse FM show or on his compilation CD, Spyro is pure, focused hype. His mixing navigates skilfully through a blend of upfront dubs, exclusive VIP mixes and certified old school classics taken from an assortment of different scenes.

MENSAH (Hench / Deep Medi Music)

Mensah is one of the freshest emerging talents to have come out of last year with a wide variety & diversity to his sound. Having become involved in the Bristol music scene at an early age, there’s no surprise that he epitomises the great things associated with the city’s music – positive, progressive and different. It's for these reasons why fellow Bristollian Jakes picked on him and released his 'Pulse 80's' track & then his Debut EP 'Untitled Future Funk' with plenty more release under his belt since.
