Nah, nothing can beat playing the actual consoles.
Hence why I just spent a load getting a Neo Geo AES instead of just downloading an emulator (would like to go the whole way and own an arcade cabinet one day)
It's just my taste. I grew up a video game nerd as a kid and nothing beats for me the experience of getting a load of mates together on an old games console for me. PC gaming has it's place. But it's not for arcade style gaming or old school home console styles.
and if your computer isn't already connected to your tv in some way shape or form, you're doing it wrong
thats what I don't get. 1024mb graphcis card with HDMI out on it.... blatantly superior sound can come from a PC, superior visuals, superior processing power

Fighting games should be played standing up or on a bar stool no other way or you're likely a failure. None of that hori cheap ass controller shit
I'm inclined to agree (with the except of Smash Bros, Gamecube controller + Wii is required). It's entirely possible to kick ass with a controller, but most people won't.

I have my home network hooked up to my jamma cab for SF4 right now.... runs 24/7 like a normal cab... you come up hit the 1 player button and it starts a game. Minus the stickers you'd never know it's not an arcade cab.... and that is far superior to console

Smash is a one off exception.... and even brawl must be played with the GC controller

now that sounds pretty cool
Lots cheaper than buying jamma boards thats for fucking sure

It's all about Brawl- tbh
^Got this running with custom music, stages, and character skins.
I'm still gonna have to give the console vs PC debate to consoles when it comes to fighting games just because the big franchises simply aren't available on PC (apart from SF4).

yea that's partially the devs fault though for not providing ports, which is a shame because half the time the emus when you run the games enhance it. if they actually ported to pc and bypassed the emulation it could be so much better, which is why it baffles me when devs (recent ex: crytek with crysis 2) dumb down their games to cash in on consoles dated hardware which cheapens the pc gamers experience so dated console hardware can keep up
every pc gamer I know has loads of cool sounding shit that they constantly have to buy just to play games and sits in a room on their own all the time wanking over increased graphics by shining a torch on a wall for 5 weeks to see the frame rate or some shit instead of shooting people, or playing need for speed underground for a whole day just in a garage tweaking paintjobs or some bullshit (or like me sitting on my mac scouting assistant youth coaches for 10 hours playing football manager)
every console player I know has mates round and plays fifa together (as in the same room) or call of duty or whatever and its always a right laugh
I know what sounds more fun to me
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

PCs aren't where the money is at anymore, plain and simple. Crysis 2 probably quadrupled their sales by going multiplatform. How many people would buy BlazBlue on PC anyway?
Anyway, a lot console to PC ports tend to suck (Gears 1 being a classic example).
