Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling
Hey all,
I'm working in Pro Tools 8 LE and I'm looking to create some templates to help resample sounds rather than spend hours resampling with little memory of what was done.
I doubt to many people are making dubstep in Pro Tools, but figured that any other DAW effects chain or technique could be utilized just the same -
We're familiar with FL and we could use our friends rig for production with it, but have been trying to do everything in PT recently.
Anyone have tips on creating a resampling or post processing template -
Thanks,
Kind Dub
If you can give us feedback, have a listen (just started making dubstep)

Re: Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling
i don't even get why people resample for the purpose of loading on fx inserts. and how could you select effects based on other peoples chains, when theyre effecting different sounds than you
this is not a shortcut. you gon have to save your own templates based on your sounds. how the hell should i know whether you ought to distort, filter, chorus, and compress something, or compress, EQ, distort, unison, EQ, saturate, and limit it???
oop-- I've already said too much.

Re: Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling

kinda of a pain in the ass in pro tools, thats why i want to make a variety of FX AUXs that i can run the same wav through multiple effects at once, and get different results & wavs - then do it all over with the new wavs...wub wrote:Experiment, bounce, save & repeat
and i haven't read the resampling section of the production bible yet...

Dunnow if it still does but I still use my old reason LE disc as a coasterjrisreal wrote:doesnt reason come with pro tools? ive heard that it does. if so just use reason

As for the OP, maybe I'm missing something here but wub said all that needs to be said.
Re: Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling
this thread makes no sense, and fucking no, of course Reason does not "come with Pro Tools".

Re: Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling
agreed, this thread makes no sense. You just set up a new project with the shit you want, save as a template/project, and re-open everytime you want to start processing... wtf.

Re: Setting Up Effects Chains For Resampling
A stripped down version was shipped with Pro Tools LE when that still existed. Came with a stripped down version of Live as well, which put me onto Live in the first place.-[2]DAY_- wrote:this thread makes no sense, and fucking no, of course Reason does not "come with Pro Tools".
