Who's Actually Experimenting?

Post by Basic A » Wed Apr 27, 2011 1:04 pm

Its one of those kind of threads, where i ask you to shaameless post your own tunes... but theres a catch, so please read.

Im not looking for your normal music which you would call 'dubstep' or whatever, so please, if your tune is reminiscent of typical forms of EDM, please leave it out... I understand that alot of experimentation goes into producing all forms of electronic music, and that dubstep, dnb, garage, ect. are all going to feature experimental elements within the context of the tune, but, they will also still pay respect to some of the more template aspects of w/e genre...

No, Im not looking for normal EDM...

Im looking for your more eccentric and personal projects. Sonic tom-foolery, ambient pieces, improvisational randomness, circuit bending projects, odd time signatures, nonquantized rhythms, full hosuehold samples and textural experiences... things which are not typical... This is a thread for my audiophile peeps, the people who like me have a past dotted with noise music and true glitch...

You know, experimental nonsense.

Thanks you and have a nice day. :Q:

-A completely cuntishness free rewrite of my original post, for legend4ry, no hard feeling man!

I do some ambient/soundscape stuff. Some glitchy stuff. But none of it I would call really weird tho. Always down for trying new stuff actually. You commented on my stuff btw, so its not really new for you.

Haha, I keep it on the down low because I don't have nearly as much practice at it. Rarely upload tracks when I make 'em and if they do get uploaded they go on my secret identities soundcloud. Though I guess now my cover is blown XD

Been spending more and more time making hip hop these days though, maybe soon I'll be confident enough to share some stuff properly.

surely that's what you do when making music isn't it? I mean that's the whole point.
Even if it's loosely based in a genre or some such..

anyway, I put this up for a feebie on the 'cloud yesterday, I've been listening to too much
Downliners Sekt.
It's 5/4 with 12/8 bits here and there.

No, not alot of people it seems... maybe what to inexperienced producers would be like, mental breakthroughs or new techniques/experiments some of us with more knowledge on audio engineering would consider run of the mill... but regardless....

In my opinion it seems like most of the members around here set out to make 'dubstep' plain and simple... Like I sorted said in my original post, you can have experimental aspects to your dubstep/dnb/future garage/w.e. and it still doesnt stop it from being regular old dubstep/dnb/future garage/w.e. ... know what I mean? Im looking for things that you cant really ground next to more traditional genres or music, ect...

Stuff ranging from like :
http://www.myspace.com/cheezfacemusic/m ... s-63505319
To:
http://ounce.bandcamp.com/track/round-3-the-meat-people

And anything in between.
