I've got an MPK mini that I'm extremely happy with -- but with no mod wheel and only 25 keys it wouldn't be the best choice for a professional. Given it's price though, it's definitely a solid choice for hobbyists and beginners.
EDIT: MPK mini is very compact -- great if you travel a lot or even just want to jam at a friend's house. Could probably fit in a purse.

Got a mini yesterday, works like a dream with Ableton. Can't recommend it enough for jamming, very addictive!
