Kick Affecting Noise During Build-Up
So, I have a standard build-up to the drop, with some noise going through a filter with the cutoff slowly going up, and a kick drum at 1/8 time with the volume slowly increasing. Problem is, every time the kick sounds, it lowers the volume of my noise, causing it to have this pulsing sound that just doesn't work. I've tried EQing the everloving hell out of both so that they are nowhere near each other frequency-wise, but no dice. I was considering automating the noise's volume, but that seemed kind of stupid. Any advice?
Re: Kick Affecting Noise During Build-Up
Sounds like you've inadvertently setup a sidechain with the kick as a trigger.

Yeah, that was the problem! Thanks, that was fast. Why does this happen though? Why would having the kick sidechained through 2 channels cause the noise on a completely different unconnected channel to be altered?
