I got Mackie Mr5's however have been looking at some Genelec's which are quite expensive, can some1 please talk me out of buying them and wasting my money!??

they are superb monitors and if you can afford them you will not regret it imo.

Genelecs have a seriously good rep, I've got Mackie HR264s and I love them mind. Would probably rather have Gens but for the money Mackies are still heavy weight. Can't go wrong with either, whatever you can afford.

Does your room sound good? Sort that out instead, cheaper than Genelecs.

cos sometimes you'll actually be doing yourself a favour if you dont have the best speakers money can buy
